This would be kind of nice, anyone that's paying attention is going to be clicking the heater to keep heat above 66% so I don't see why they should have to click the anvil again

Because spam-clicking in the exact same place is much more tempting to bot?

Think about it for a moment - if a person simply had to keep clicking the same spot over and over, he could easily be tempted to use any common autoclicker to do the job. He'd likely be caught, but the problem is that the temptation would be there.

Because you have to click in different places in order to continue Smithing, that's beyond the capabilities of any straightforward autoclicker, and though it could still be macroed in a pretty straightforward way, you would almost certainly need to use a more "developed" tool for the job (that would still likely be detected), meaning it's much less tempting except to those determined to cheat.

In a nutshell, if a player is already likely to have such a tool capable of doing the job available or installed on their PC, a single moment of succumbing to temptation could cause them to use it. Having to look for a dedicated bot client is usually enough to ensure such players have enough time to reconsider the consequences of their actions before they commit.

Er there was no self defeating argument, I was asking for a clarification of your view.
I made no comment as to how one process compares to the other in my opinion.
You seemed to be saying the current way is not lazy, but that the other way would be lazy, & I was asking if that's what you meant.

Lol Uncle Pob your theories make me laugh sometimes :D
You do have an imagination, & a desire & time to express it.
But I think it's getting a bit off topic, obviously this wasn't some Jagex master plan to thwart auto clickers, this doesn't feature in other aspects of the rework, including mining.

Hey CuddleBucket ! Love the hat and your idea but the whole point of these little clicks like the heating and rockurunities is to distract/entertain us during repetitive tasks and discourage the use and design of botting software.

The easier masterwork is to create the lower its value and thus the lower the value of its components. Which in turn affects other items.
