Comp Cape Design Update
As you know, we've been working with the community to redesign the comp cape from the ground up, making it more fun to work towards and less essential to high tier builds.

If you've been following along with the design document, you'll know that we've been making some changes to the way achievements are categorized, most notably by removing the 'completionist' category and redistributing the achievements within between 'miscellaneous' and a brand new category called 'lore'. Each category will also be split into tiers, with different rewards for each tier.

For example, here's how we've categorized the 'combat' achievements.

Tier one:

Reaper Crew (defeating every boss)

So, basically, nothing has changed. All you're doing is adding higher tiers for elite pvm'ers to brag about

If you read the document you will see they're splitting it into different groups so you can go for the combat achievement cape and not have to bother with the skilling achievements and vice versa.

But you still need 1 of each catagory for the comp cape. The lowest tier catagory denotes which tier comp you can wear.

See the diagram on page 6 of the googledoc.

Indeed, the biggest problem and (only one IMO) is just beeing ignored.

They should better shelve this update like the rest of 2018's content as they aren't willing to make changes to the core issue (reaper).

No, they're adding several alternative capes you can go for without having to PvM at all. If you want a cape billed the "completionist" cape, you should actually be a fucking completionist, even if that means completing content you don't like or think is difficult.

But yeah fuck those elite PvMers amirite? You people are the most nauseatingly entitled little pricks I have ever seen in my life, and Jagex is already giving you far more than you deserve.

The truth is you're the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin'. I'm tryin' real hard to be the shepherd.

Not that it's any of your concern but I can't use full manual combat because of personal disabilities. I can manage GWD2, even QBD at a push. Tier 1 combat cape could easily cover lower end bosses with their difficulties being tiered up the relevant capes.

My open post is more to highlight the fact that one of the main reasons for the rework was Reaper. By leaving reaper on the tier 1 cape, nothing has changed.

So, no, I'm not a nauseating prick, I'm someone who wants recognition for my accomplishments.

Honestly, I facepalmed when I saw the list - most of t2/3 mentioned are super easy, only a few are even worth mentioning at all (hard mode nomad, telos 500/1000%, vorago maul). They've not even touched on fixing problem 4 either with reaper still at t1, a req drastically harder than most of the other reqs listed in the post.

The death's store one frankly belongs as t1, lower t2 at highest - it should've been swapped with reaper from day soul reaper release as it has always made more sense for it to be the standard comp req. Kalgerion one is passable at t3 purely due to heavy RNG, but it's technically a buyable req beyond the very easy actual combat part (DG bosses).

Reaper isn't every boss to begin with - it's every boss death can assign you at least once. That's actually a tiny proportion of the bosses in the game - primarily focussed around those killed purely for profit. It also assumes no one disables or skips group bosses of course - something far from the truth.
The slayer equivalent would be "kill every slayer creature and other enemy that can be set as a slayer task at least once each" - something equally pointless/arbitrary. Heck, they put the slayer codex at t3 too, which is basically reaper for slayer but with an RNG element that is only significant against top level slayer creatures. I really don't understand why there's so much stubbornness about moving reaper to a suitable place on the requirements list.

Should we make the "charmer chameleon" achievement t1 too? it's identical to reaper in nature - what about a smithing equivalent? make all possible smithable items. I bet all the people advocating that reaper belongs as t1/comp would love that. /s

They're backtracking yet again by making feedback 3rd party site only too..it was clearly stated before that feedback would be from the forums too - yet this time not only is the feedback link offsite, but there's not even a discuss button the news post as is to discourage feedback from their own forums.
