So what are the incentives for high level players to do wildy slayer atm?

Killing green drags for 69xp, hellhounds for 94xp, or greater demons for 135xp a pop is really weak, even with the 20% boost from demonic skull which is pretty worthless (20% of shit is still shit) paired with how much time is wasted running from pkers (not the mention the apparent truckload of skull glitches) etc makes it seem like there isn't really a reason for mainscapers to participate unless they want an alternative way to make money from picking potatoes.

Right now the majority of the players doing wilderness tasks appear to be ironmen, but as an IM I know Im never going back once I get my t87. Whats going to happen after that?

Im aware that incentivizing players to participate too much is going to make the value of the t87s crash, which would also affect all gear below t87, but I would like to see the following:

Buffing xp rates through the wildy skull when the emblem is held.
The skulls' xp boost should scale to level to try to give wildy tasks at least a viable amount of xp (consider that corrupted creatures take 2 seconds to kill and give ~500xp each)

e.g.
120%@1
140%@50
160%@70
180%@80
200%@90
250%@99

Lowering the death penalty for high risk tasks.
Losing 10~20 tasks worth of progress from 1 death is pretty big, and the majority of time spent farming the emblem is spent in the high penalty tiers. It makes it pretty much impossible to do deep wilderness tasks in hotspots like lava strykes or kalgs if your going for the emblem, which also makes it less worthwhile for pkers to be there either. If the deeper into the wilderness you have to go to complete your task, the less penalty there is for dying, you will be able create a healthy tradeoff for participating in deep wilderness tasks that you cant just insta-tp away from.

I suggest you make players lose "100 - (Wildy level)%" of Potential. 70% at lv30 is still quite a lot, but its better.

I realize after reading my post that a smarter way to adjust the xp rates is to make the tier of the emblem also have an affect, alongside slayer level. You don't want low level players getting truckloads of xp just because they have a t10 and cant be pked cause they're such a low level, but it also wouldn't be healthy for people high level players to get the full bonus with a t1 w/ 0 potential.

This would also incentives players to hold onto their emblems instead of cashing them in, which would help retain the price of the t87s.

You could multiply the above mentioned wildy skull xp bonuses by something like (emblem tier^2)% giving us:

t1=1%
t2=4%
t3=9%
t4=16%
t5=25%
t6=36%
t7=49%
t8=64%
t9=81%
t10=100%

I know you know how to square numbers I just wanted to lay it out so you can see how it would scale smoothly, visually.

Im also looking forward to new slayer monsters that are unique to the wilderness as well as an extension to the terrain (level 60+ wilderness woo!) and more wilderness mechanics to make the interactions between people slaying and pking more interesting (like the obelisks or multi/single combat zones.) @Jagex.

Things like the opposite of the bandit camp (where skulled players get attacked) or trees that randomly stun players etc could be interesting.

The incentive is a bonus to your profit potential, while having a high element of risk.

I think that emblems increasing slayer xp is a good idea. Makes up for risk and time spend defending yourself from pkers.

I have ideas for wilderness mechanics in my "The New Wild" thread, if you're interested.

The thing that makes me laugh is that it is not even worth upgrading your skull you get when you complete a task, For example, A T1 you can exchange for 1 point but a T2 you can exchange for 2 points.

EVEN if that was only 1 task between the upgrade it would still not be worth bringing the skull to upgrade but it takes FOUR tasks to upgrade the skull so in effect you lose 3 points by upgrading your skull to T2 as it takes 5 tasks in total to get you there and you always get a skull at the end of each task.

How about removing eoc and use the old combat system?

Everyone knows eoc killed wildy.

Living proof: 07 has more active wild than rs3

If no old combat in rs3, at least make wildy have old combat without eoc.

The old glory days of pure specing and praying. Those were during the wild's peak moments

It feels like people are denying the truth for some odd reason just because they gave up to

make a change or revolution. Sheep I say. Sheep.

Jagex should consider making the game farmville. We got over 200 million sheep alts,

bots and mains. Oh wait, I think its what pof is going to be for, my bad.
