alright, I love dinosuars and I don't post here but please jagex if your new land without time update has dinosuars please please please have cool realistic dinosaurs, dinosaurs are more closely related to the modern bird, most of them were small and almost all of them almost definitely were feathered, please don't make the same crappy rediculous godzilla monsters that have never existed and are little more than a boring trope
Konotasaid: Aren't Dragons the evolution form of Dinosaurs in Runscape? Anyway.
I hope -if they make dinosaurs-, they will make it like dinosaurs like we know with a bit of a Runescape sauce in it.
In the Runescape Multiverse, Guthix created Gielinor but unlike God in Genesis, he did not create the creatures.
Creatures in Gielinor seemingly were immigrants from other planes. Dragonkin was among the first race to warp to Gielinor. They were the "dinosaurs" of Gielinor. Therre were no words dinosaurs immigrated to Gielinor so they might have never existed.
And no. Dragons did not evolve from anything. They were created by the Dragonkin.
Jon Strydersaid: Dilbert2001said: And no. Dragons did not evolve from anything. They were created by the Dragonkin. Created from what...?
...Perhaps the Dragonkin brought dinosaurs with them to Gielinor to experiment on, and used them to create the first dragons. Nah but close, Kerapac said that he experimented on the dinosaurs he found on Fossil Island with his own lifeblood to create proto-dragons. Only one survived which went on to become QBD.°l||l° Modest Skillers T7 Citadel | Skilling clan recruiting players. °l||l°

So regardless of how dinosaurs arrived on Gielinor, dragons did 'evolve' from them, even if that evolution was forced by the dragonkin.
That would explain the similar characteristics between dragons and the traditional (non-feathered) depictions of dinosaurs. (Something the developers would surely have to be mindful of when designing the new Island's inhabitants, even if that is a clichéd boring trope.)–= MEGA Construction Rework =–

"I am Kerapac, the observer. The end of our enslavement to Her stone is at hand, and I am the key.
Others ravage, rage, tear and scratch at anything that will reduce the pain - the itch of False Users. I endure. I stay in control. I pour the fury and pain into my project, my hatred acting as my fuel to keep going on. My hatred of the False Users. Of our curse. Most of all, of Her.
All of my past experiments on living dragonkin were failures - no matter how much I tore my subjects apart, leaving them on the brink of death, examining their entrails, still they felt the itch. I could see it burning in their eyes as they died. The secret to our curse is not hidden deep within our bodies, or I would have found it. I am absolutely certain of that.
Frustration. Poured into rage and slaughter. A solution came as I found an island filled with giant, mindless reptiles - I could not forcibly remove Her curse, but I could work around it. Create a new uncursed form of life. I used magic to force my lifeblood into the eggs of the strongest of these reptiles. Only one survived the process: the egg of a huge water-dwelling lizard. I now watch, and wait. Pain...must focus. Control is everything. My progeny is the key to our freedom. The lesser races already fear us in our manipulated, cursed states. They will be even more helpless when the true dragonkin are unleashed."
The first dragon, QBD, was created from the egg of a water-dwelling reptile according to the First Dragonkin Journal. No words about dinosaurs and how they got there.
There may be an interesting point here though. In traditional oriental folks, oriental dragons or azure serpents are huge water-dwelling reptiles. QBD maybe Seiryu's relative. The huge flying creature on the picture also look a lot like an azure serpent to me.
