100% not true, I'm not even half way to 120 RC and I'd support it, heck I'd support any skill to 120 (I only have 10x 120s) as long as there are enough content to fill the gap.

No. No noncombat skills should be bumped to 120 anytime in the foreseeable future. The combat skills maybe, because they are generally extremely fast to train and, according to most players, more fun to train than non combat skills. The only noncombat skill I could see kinda reasonably going to 120 right now is MAYBE farming, and that's only because of how amazing the exp from POF is, and only if the exp were made even better once you pass 99.

TL;DR- it took longer to 99 rc in 2009 than it will take to get 120 today with todays methods so xp ph as argument works for 120 not against

construction, herblore, crafting, fletching, are all faster than combats to train

(technically farming is too considering time actually doing it)


but your argument is soley on how much xp gained is. when no thats not at all any factor in if levels should be 99 or 120. its the content

to get 120 (104m xp) in rc (max xp i got doing 200m was 450k xp hour (no bonus xp) at souls )

being able to do that method is already 5m xp to be gained

220 hours for 99m xp
5m xp at span 62 hours(id assume most will do this now ill average to 80k xp hour not 120k to be generous)

282 hours

when runecrafting was released it max xp hour (if i remember correctly making natures running from gen store) was 13k xp hour

results in 1003 hours for 99

so your argument for using "time to get it" is void when it was released just to get 99 was 5 times as much

even few years later at zmi which is 45k xp per hour (how i got 99)

is 288 hours

the difference being roughly 16 hours more to get 99.

so even with it being after 6 years of release the time it took to get 99 was still more than it is now for 120....

if you want to use xp ph hour as an argument against it. i can use it for it. and so far getting 120 is faster than 99 when 99 was released

This - so much this: Brainlessly wanting to extend a skill to 120 is as bad as not wanting it at all. And no - just providing higher levelled skilling options wouldn't be a reason to have the skill extended.

The sole reason for a runecrafting extension would be either new equipment (wouldn't help anyone when the stuff has some extreme disparity to combat levels) and/or new runes (which would work as many spells need a lower magic level than the runecrafting one to create the rune). And as OP doesn't provide neither concept I really do not see why it should be done for now.

There would have to be major content updates before I would ever consider supporting the notion of making all skills 120. I'm not intentionally going for virtual 120's, let alone 200m xp in any skill with how things are now. I don't care that xp is faster now, I am over the grind. I'm above 99 in all virtual skills, not purposely, but as a natural outcome of what I enjoy doing in game. I still farm my own herbs and make my own potions, I love PoF, I enjoy bossing which naturally raises combat skills, I hate fire making but I'm 101 in that solely from burning 5 logs before boss fights, I mine and craft robust and crystal stones, sometimes I go to an island to grind for chimes, but I am in no hurry to get the "Sandy Title" so that's that.

I love the relaxed atmosphere that being maxed and having 120's in invention, slayer, and dungeoneering have brought to my personal experience in game.

i find runespan incredibly easy to gain xp with basically 0 gp required, so i don't personally care if they bump to 120 but without any new runes to make it sounds pretty useless. other than multiple runes that normally would have been reached with the algorithm @@@ @@@
