My Complaint:

The mining and smithing rework is rather amazing, in my opinion, and I have pretty much nothing but positive things to say about it. However one small way in which it made things worse is when it comes to arrows, bolts, and other such “only good in bulk” items. While before I could set my character to making 28 bars worth of arrows in one shot, now I have to individually create each bar’s worth while taking longer each bar to create the arrows. Yet you get no more arrows per bar now and as opposed to everything else you smith, the change is just objectively worse. You don’t even have to heat the arrows more than once. Even when I was level one smithing making bronze arrows, I never had to reheat the item.

My Solution:

Just like armor has the +1 and such, why not give ammo items a x2, x4, x6, x8, x10 option? You could make these level dependent, such as once you’re 55 you can make Rune Arrows ten bars at a time for example. There are two ways this could be done in regards to XP as well. Either give the same XP and time you give for multiple bar projects equal to the number of bars you’re making into ammo, or maybe give less XP per bar for making it a bit quicker.

Either of these would drastically improve ammo production.

Why would you need arrows in bulk? Abilities don't use them, you can kill thousands of moss giants while wielding only one arrow and still keep it if you do it full manual and don't make any mistakes. The RS Wiki needs a hand, and Bwian's will gladly take the rest of your body!

For those using Legacy combat, they still burn through a lot of arrows (runes too for magic), so this is a worthwhile update.

I agree, having a make-x option to smith multiple bars at once for items like arrows, knives, bolts, etc would be useful.
Ooh, a light at the end of the tunnel...
...Do you think I should get off the tracks?

I guess the easiest solution would be creating a low progress recipe, which offers for balancing reasons fairly poor xp per bar (i.e. 10 times quicker, but 10 times less xp), with optional alternatives to smith more bars at once into the respective items.

And yeah of course - the urn was due to fix before the rework, it just is moreso now.
