Currently the runescape website shows the player count across both rs and osrs, rather than just rs. Could we please fix it to either show just the rs player count OR clearly say that it's both osrs and rs and perhaps give the proportion of each, so that it's not so misleading.
Of course. Technically it's fine, but it is undeniably misleading. Whether it is purposely misleading or a simply remnant of the pre-osrs days, I'm unsure. We have an easy way to be transparent (assuming that Jagex wishes to be transparent): either explicitly state it's across the two games, show only rs player count on the website, or show both (I.e. Rs3: xk OSRS: yk). Personally, I believe that showing both would be the better choice. <Players against animal abuse>
It could always stay like it is, showing the total count, but add a tooltip when hovered for a break down. It would look too clunky up in that tiny little bar for two counters, but the tooltip could be a good compromise.
I like the idea that if I hover my mouse over the number, it would show me a breakdown of RuneScape 3 and OSRS players. Yes, it does say "Online" so it doesn't explicitly say that the number shown is for RuneScape 3 players, but it is assumed as it's on the main website. I'm not 100% sure if this is intentional or not, but adding a feature where it would differentiate between the two games would be ideal for transparency purposes.
Miusaid: The thing is, even if it were to say RS3 players online, it still wouldn't be accurate. The RS3 playercount includes people that have been AFK in the lobby for up to about an hour or so.It would still be much more accurate. <Players against animal abuse>
