I just noticed that my Google Chrome browser shows the RSOF forums not secure when making or replying to posts.

Was this due to a recent game update? Or did Jagex just get that damn sloppy?

It's been like that for a while. It's simply because the URL for the forums does not start with https://
The login page does, and this is secure.
Hardly recent, and definitely not a game update.

Well I ask because my credit car was hacked last week. It is a card i use regularly for purchases in stores, but only use it online for Jagex.

Maybe I got skimmed? Or maybe Jagex got hacked and doesn't know it?

Everywhere else, including the Jagex Store and Payment pages use https encryption. The most likely case is you had a keylogger on your pc, and it got your details when you made a purchase.

Not a chance. My PC is scanned with Malwarebytes premium, Rougekiller, and Windows Denfender at least twice a week.

None of the scans detected a threat.

* Edit* This credit card is only used online for my Jagex subscription other than IRL purchases at local vendors. I'm not placing blame on Jagex. Most likely ran my card through a skimmer possibly.

Anyways, thank you for the replies Foxxie.

Thread moved to a more relevant Forum, as this is not about a recent game update.

Game updates do not cause changes to the forums or the website.

As Google Chrome is the browser of choice for the majority of Internet users, Google is a very influential name with shaping the future of browsers in general. They throw their weight around, pressuring web developers to comply. All non-encrypted webpages are categorized by Chrome as "not secure".

It does not mean that the user will get hacked, it just meant that the exchange of data from the user to the webserver and back is not encrypted. Here in Runescape, pages for RSOF are http only, hence the Chrome warning. I've warned Jagex about this issue early on, as Google made a public announcement about it a year prior to the implementation.
