Hi. This may be more of a rant than a question, or the other way around. Quite frankly I am a bit confused myself.

This account of mine is an ironman I started mid-fall last year, and since then I've taken breaks in my membership. Clearly I shouldn't be receiving any loyalty points for the period I didn't play. As far as all that goes I am totally on board with the system. But as it stands right now my ironman has reached a point where vamp aura and penance aura is extremely relevant, especially given how hard it is to get 92 prayer on an ironman. With the current rates I'll have to be a member for another two months before I am granted enough points to be allowed to by one of the most crucial auras in the game. In a manner of speaking it's massively holding me back because I can't do solo bossing and stuff like that as well as I'd like to at my combat level.

What I am confused about is why we can't just receive loyalty points for the months we've paid for. If I pay for a full year today, I've paid. I am loyal enough to pay such a chunk sum of money in one go. Why wouldn't I be able to access the loyalty points for the paid period and be able to enjoy the game? Premier club isn't even offered more than one or two months out of the year, so those who don't get on that bandwagon in january and decide to start an ironman, or a normal account, any other month is essentially stuck waiting for crucial auras for several months even though we've already paid.

I'd understand if you locked some auras based on loyalty time, especially the advanced combat auras and the advanced skilling auras, but vampyrism and penance are far too crucial for people that, by the nature of their account, can't duo or group up for difficult pvm content as well as others.

I may sound entitled, having paid membership flawlessly on a main account for years. I may be entirely in the wrong here. But surely there are others that agree with me, right?

Some insight into Jagex's thinking would be <3

you certainly sound entitled.. much like many people these days :@

you *always* get loyalty points when a member, what you don't get is the same rate of loyalty points if your membership lapses repeatedly..

they are called "loyalty" points for a reason...

essentially if you only have membership every other month, your loyalty point rate will be very low, whereas if you've been a member for every month since loyalty points where introduced, you'll have the top rate.
there is a limit to the rate per month that you can get, so those with members for 8+ years wont be getting 200k+ a month.
the wiki will have the specific numbers im sure, but the principle is above

those aura's aren't even *that* crucial, given they are limited use per day, specially for an ironman.

and the rant side:
its just a long wall of text for "gimme fr33 stoofs, me ir0nm4n"... may as well write it like that, its just as stupid....

The logic checks out, from my perspective. Not too sure why they feel the need to dose out the loyalty points on a per-month basis when you pay for more than one month at a time.

I recommend you attempt to contact a mod via Reddit or Twitter, though, as you are not going to get one here on the RSOF.

I didn't ask for free stuff. I acknowleged that no membership shouldn't grant loyalty points. But why is it different if I pay for a years worth of membership now or if I pay once a month for a year? The amount of money is the same. So what's the point of having those wait for a monthly pay-out that already paid for a whole year? That was the entire point of my post, and in no way did I ask for free stuff.

As for how crucial the aura is, it's very crucial. I've looked around for a while and it's very hard to find ironmen to duo with you. And a lot of the Ironmen PvM clans/friendchats are extremely elitist and more or less trashtalk you if you ask for duo partners unless you can perfectly solo a full hour already, and that defeats the purpose of asking for some help to begin with. Vampyrism aura would let you get a couple more kills out of each boss run you do yourself, thus making it just slightly easier to get a bit further. It's weird that it's locked behind a minimum of four months of waiting.

I was mostly ranting. I didn't expect a Jmod to respond. At least one can hope someone reads it at Jagex, but it makes little difference. I am glad though, that someone else agreed with my viewpoint.

What do we do if we use bonds, but get no loyalty points? i have a year membership and need loyalty points for an aura, so I extended my membership but got no loyalty points.

I don't know what to do, as support doesn't respond to my emails.

You don't get it immediately, you get them once a month on the date you first bought membership.
