How are new players supposed to know that if a feature is in the game that they shouldn't be allowed to abuse it? At least put it in the tutorial and put heavy emphasis on how they shouldn't be allowed to abuse obvious bugs like this. And even then, a lot of newbies don't even know about the top-end gear and would see this as a perfectly acceptable feature. Personally, I find this to be unfair. It's like 3PC. You don't blame the people who use them. You blame the incompetent dev team and testers.

Now, I'm fully aware that mistakes like this happen 24/7 as a programmer. I'm not blaming God Ash at all. What I'm confused about is what the hell the testers do, if there are any at all. Also, I've noticed these screwups have been increasingly common. First, it was the Ardy knights then the pures and now this Twisted Bow bug. If you guys can't keep up with the content development rate, then slow it down a bit. The only major bug I remember before OSRS was the ring of wealth buff with Corp Beast sigils. And we've three major ones now within a couple of months. Does that tell you guys anything? At this point, I don't even have faith that they'd release Prif, the one update I've wanted since the release of OSRS, properly without there being some major issue. Discuss.

well obviously they should have the common knowledge to know its cheating. no support and i hope everyone that exploited the bug gets punnished

How would you expect a new player that had just created their account a couple days before the bug to know this?
Not all ironnubnubs cry for excess catering. Some of us just know how to git gud.

You can't punish people for your own mistakes. if i mess up on a concrete driveway i dont get to say all well, now im going to charge you double to fix it. no, i fix it. eliminate the problem and move on. bugs are bugs. it's unfortunate that it had happened but it's simply no ones fault but the creator's themselves. But with all that being said, i don't think jagex will put any serious bans onto anyone, or atleast id hope not. that would be awful silly of them and i believe they are much better and smarter than that. whats done is done. hicups happen. im sure who ever did it is feeling some wrath or are now considering themselves jobless. i just am finding it to hard to believe there will be any indefinite bans unless it was rwt after the fact. then it should be delt with accordingly as any of us would expect and agree.

Why would they exploit a bug that revolves around the highest teir bow in the game if they're so new?

I mean they should know just from walking around the game that high teir items dont just spawn randomly like that.

It called common sense.

So stop trying to find loop-holes in the rules as that isnt need.

Just because you might be "new" doesnt mean you should get a free pass.

besides as a new player, you dont even know about the farming guild. and by the time you will, the bug will be long fixed. jagex is smarter than that. this isnt rw politics, cant make it up as you go. i just cant see anyone getting 45 farm from 1 in a couple of days. (which is req to even use the guild) you would literally have to camp tith farm which i dont think you can even do that early on. and even if so, you would literally be doing just farming thats all for 2 days, what are those odds? so with all the content blockages its safe to say that it's actually quite impossible for anyone new new to remotely even go there unless specifically told to do so, or knowledge of a bug like this one. logically it just says it was exploited, but lucky enough there was a roll back. so praise it for anyone who messed with the bug. you still have a chance on continuing your Rune Scape adventure. no harm no foul.

Not necessary.

https://www.runescape.com/game-guide/rules

"Knowingly exploiting a bug
Players must not use or attempt to use any cheats or errors which they may find in our software. Any exploits a player finds must be immediately reported to Jagex through Customer Support."

"Why we have this rule
We put a lot of effort into balancing our games to make them as fair and fun as possible. Bugs can spoil the effect of a game, so we obviously want to fix them as quickly as possible. Deliberately taking advantage of a bug can unbalance the game and devalue other players' efforts."

"Finding bugs
If you find a bug, then report it to us immediately and do not divulge the nature of the issue to any other players. Players won't be penalised for experiencing a bug unless they use it to their advantage or advertise the nature of the issue to other players."

You agree to these rules before you even make your account.

https://www.jagex.com/en-GB/terms

"9. RULES
You must comply with the current version of any rules, guidelines, codes of conduct or instructions specified in any Jagex Product including our game rules, the current version of which is linked to here. The applicable game rules are expressly incorporated into these terms and conditions. Any use of a Jagex Product not in accordance with the game rules exceeds the scope of the license granted by these terms and conditions and is prohibited."
I'll keep score from now on.
