Aye? You see no difference? And where do you see textures?

They look almost exactly the same....i can see a few small differences obviously but what you have to remember is in game the character model is going to be FAR smaller then that....meaning your going to see even LESS difference....it is absolutely not worth 4-6 months of work.

and if your talking about "different colours" i.e. the blue and green with slight shadows...then welcome to the land of textures~ that is 100% completely and totally NOT due to the model.

"4-6 months of work." Lol, can a Mod confirm please?

Also if you see no difference in game then idk ur just blind then. /no flame
It's MODEL quality. Not overall, I'm asking for model toggle.

About colours,*facepalm*.
I mean different colours in same model XD.

I mean you'd see "some" difference but look:

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/2007scape/images/7/71/Black_dragon_task-only_area_safe_spot.png/revision/latest?cb=20170607112916

This is the amount of zoom out 99% of people have when their looking at their character, yeah theres some difference between the two models you linked, but being that far zoomed out you'd barely notice it at all.

And i got the 4-6 months from personal experience.

A normal toggle would take about a year to complete. and as someone whos worked on both models and animations while textures are harder, it's not like models are suddenly a simple thing to create.

You have to create the model itself which takes a long time AND you have to create all brand new animations for everything related to those models, plus map the textures to the new models and hope they wrap around it properly, and if they dont you'd need to create new textures then.

Creating the textures themselves is only about...20-30% of the work, there is ALOT of other things that go into a HD toggle, simply not adding textures to a toggle isn't suddenly going to make this an incredibly quick process...it will still take a very long time.

Long enough that:

A. no-one will be happy waiting around for zero content updates the entire time.

And

B. i can guarantee it will not make enough money back to justify the time spent on it.

While yeah...it might bring in members..how many members do you think are going to stop/leave if they dont get content updates for a year? or hell..even half a year? the number that will stop due to zero content updates is FAR higher then the number who will join just because of a new toggle

Why the fuck would they waste 4-6 months of work on this? Just force in the old 05 models and interface as an integrity issue. The ditch is gonna get endless repolls while sand buckets can pass the first poll and never be implemented. After the ditch passes the 7th poll attempt, it'll be implemented an hour before the poll closes because it's actually important. Deal with it.

While im not against that, im pretty sure they've said before that they don't actually have those old models anymore.

so either way they'd still have to re-make them.

Then remake them and force it in just to watch these HD nubnubs cry m0ar.

If you don't like the graphics that are one of the biggest parts that makes old school what it is, then maybe it's just not for you. It obviously is appealing to future players, since it's growing in size. It's not just veteran players that play OSRS, it's also a lot of new players.

OSHD is never happening. If you care to know why, read the other 105 threads made on the topic, that have all been shut down. Too big of a job, would cost too much money to do an update that would NEVER get 75% support, especially without a toggle. And since a toggle has been confirmed to be impossible, it's not worth even discussing this dead horse anymore. OSHD will never happen. If you don't like that, I guess that sucks for you. I hope you enjoy rs3, or find a game you do enjoy. OSRS is obviously not your game if you only care about graphics.

P.S. the 2008 graphics, or the "HD" graphics, to me, and many other people, were the absolute worse graphics since the current ones. I hated them since release, until the day they were changed again. They looked absolutely stupid. Just because YOU liked them, does not mean everyone else did. It also does not mean that new players would prefer them.

I'd rather have actual updates than wait 2 years without new content just to get graphics I never wanted.
WARDING. Where do magic robes come from?!

*This actually brings RS3 players, brings players who quitted both games and also brings more new players because game simply looks better and more appealing with 2011 models.

How does bringing a player from RS3 who pays to OSRS make a profit? That doesn't generate revenue in fact you probably damaged it because they went from a game with a lot of mtx to one with just bonds you would lose out on a lot of money with this.
