making twisted bows fletchable would cause the entire economy to go insane.

Well, that's what Jagex has been doing to skilling resources.

^

They have completely destroyed the value of any and every skilling resource.....i dont think 99% of the community even considers skilling as a viable method to get resources anymore.

inb4go play ironman

Tbh if the only way that people will farm/grind resources themselves is by playing a game mode that literally dforces them to and disables all trading, then clearly somethings wrong with how skilling/combat are set up.

Just gotta see some consistency here.
I think it's fair to assume you think PvM giving an excess of skilling supplies is a bad thing, correct?

With that in mind, why would you suggest implementing consistency in that direction? If you think it's a bad thing, why do you want to extend that flaw to other parts of the game?

Abandon this suggestion and just make a thread to address the real problem: skilling isn't good enough anymore.

There is already FAR too much gold coming into the economy...so buffing the rates/items that skilling gives is NOT the solution...that just opens us up to being botted even heavier and futrther saturating the market.

So if we can't increase the amount of gold/resources coming into the game...then obiously we have to decrease it.

And where is 99% of the games gold/resources coming from? Combat.

Hence, combat needs a nerf.

This isn't JUST about making skilling useful again, its making skilling useful WHILE considering game balance and trying not to break the economy even more then it already is.

Edit: i'll agree skilling needs updates~ i've got an entire thread about it.

But the solution is NOT to just buff it up to match combat...RS3 did that and...well...you see what RS3 turned into.

Why not limit the drop table for items the player can also skill. so for example only drop yew logs in a PvM if the player has 60 Woodcutting. this will force people who want good loot to also train other skills than combat skills

That wont do much really...95% of people who do high level combat already have those skills at high levels...and keeping in mind almost every skills rewards unlock before level 90...and thats only a little over 1/3rd of the way to 99.

Plus...that wouldn't solve the problem of skilling skills having zero use....because once you have say...75 woodcutting for magic logs...or 81 fishing for manta rays, who would ever use those skills again to gather resources when they can just kill bosses and farm them?
