Miniquest Filling in the ditch

Could we have a quest where the player learns about the wilderness and how it's a pvp area. As a reward the player will have the option to fill in the wilderness ditch (or dig up the filled in ditch if they wish to revert). The filled in ditch would allow free travel into and out of the wilderness. The requirement would be 10 farming to grow grass to cover up the ditch soil.

The main reason for the quest is to teach players about the wilderness being a dangerous pvp area and will teach players how to change prayers, run from pkers, teach about multi lines, how to teleport, box npcs, etc.

This will mean that those that want the ditch to remain can just not fill in the ditch. Those that don't know that the wilderness is a pvp area can learn about that and learn how to survive pkers. Those that want the game to be similar to old school rs2 will be able to fill in the ditch. Note, the farming guild doors prove that this would be viable.

No support because I see this opening up some future luring methods. Surprisingly this is one of your actual threads that seem like you have a genuine suggestion and put effort into it, congrats.

However, the reason I cannot support this is that without the ditch, players can do delay trades to lure people into the wilderness. What I mean by this is that they can trade you, then run into the wilderness and use some animation delay(s) like humidify, reading books, etc. so it doesn't look like their character is in the wilderness. Newer players will then run into the wilderness thinking they are safe, and lose their banks.

One thing that also needs to change with the ditch is how projectile damage works. It needs to go back to how it was so people can get hurt when they aren't in the wilderness, if they were attacked when they were. All this mechanic does is encourage people to hug 1 wilderness for literally no risk (stepping into wild, attacking, and stepping out).

People can already do this in pvp worlds.
