I enjoyed the Fist of Guthix mini-game quite a lot. I would absolutely love to see it make a return in old school with one small change... I would love to see the mini-game return with the ability to challenge players directly as well as be matched automatically like the previous system. I feel like having the ability to challenge players directly would create an exciting and competitive aspect for the mini-game and it would gain lots of popularity.
Fog was farmed to much by people that were "pro" so you could not do it if you were not one. IF it ever (and that's a long shot) came to osrs, it would have to have "levels" determined by how much you had played it. If you were a novice you had absolutely no chance against a pro even if you combat levels were a lot higher. IF you knew what you were doing, there were ways to make it where you never lost.
"IF you knew what you were doing, there were ways to make it where you never lost."
I mean, someone had to lose. So, if 2 people who knew how to "never lose" were paired up, the streak would have to end.
It wasn't so much that there was a deep, guarded secret of success like you're alluding to. The reality was, most players wanted quick turnover where they each just went right to the middle and whoever killed faster won. If you actually played the game the way it was intended as hide and go seek, you would usually beat your inevitably impatient opponent.
Oh, and 100% support. It was a great and very active minigame. I don't see any harm to adding it.
You mean the minigame that people just ran to the middle and waited? Sure you could try to use the houses, but in the long run you'll get less tokens because you're just wasting time. Even if you did win you would still be behind the guy who ran to the middle and has already finished his second game.
Lets call FoG what it really was free mage training experience at early levels.
Ah, I remember the good ol' times! Coming home from school and meeting up with my friend online to play some FOG. Those were the days haha. If FOG makes a return or even Stealing Creation, my nostalgia would blow up through the roof
