For every trade of an item with a value of above 100 gp per item, the buyer pays 1 more coin, which the seller does not get. buying 2000 sharks? that's 2000 coins gone. S twisted bow? Just 1 coin still. This would mainly prey on the lower-value items, such as food, bought in bulk, and it would be a very good gold sink, as it would have little effect on the average player, but since the GE is used so much, it would still have such a huge effect. Please stop trying to tax the GE. Trading with the GE should be encouraged, not discouraged.

No support.

Please realize that the G.E has just as many disadvantages as advantages and it needs to be fixed~

also 1 gp is not really a large enough tax imo.

Such as what, and how would a tax fix those disadvantages?

It is, depending on the price of the things you're buying.

For example, a 1 coin tax on Fire Runes would be a 20% increase in cost.

There should be NO TAX. If you want gold sinks, try something else.
I'll keep score from now on.

This is honestly not even enough that's laughable levels of money.
You don't know much about the OSRS economy, then.

Many items are traded in volumes in the billions. This would be a MASSIVE goldsink, and would have a disastrous effect on the Grand Exchange. The only things worth trading would be very expensive things, which are things that are traded the least.

Know more about it than you ever seen a game with G.E. or auction house that was never used because it had a tax? Me neither because you won't find one because the convenience far outweighs the cost it wouldn't do a damn thing except remove gold out of the economy which is good for this game. Duel arena has a tax and surprise it didn't make everybody stop going there.

Fisher doesn't have any knowledge of the in-game economy or how the G.E's algorithm works so trying to argue it against him is pointless because he refuses to learn about how the game works before commenting~

I didn't say this would make everyone stop using the GE; I said it would have a disastrous effect on the Grand Exchange by making the only things worth trading being very expensive items that are already traded in small volumes. The things traded the most on the GE would be affected far more.

It would discourage usage of the GE for trading, which is a bad thing.

If you want gold sinks, there are better methods than discouraging use of the GE. The GE is good for the game. Quit trying to ruin it just because you don't like it.

That's because people were able to double their money in a single duel, and the people who go there have a gambling problem.

For what it's worth, though, I didn't want the Duel Arena tax, either.
