Hey Runescape.

I am really desperate to get my account back, which i have put a LOT of hours into. I have tried to recover my account 3 or 4 times a day for the last month, and i created this account, just to please get some human help. I lost my character named "naruhas" i remember the login and password just fine, but since i created this account, when i was a kid, i cant remember my recovery answers. I know the bank PIN to my account, i know some of the friends on my friend list, and i can name several of the items in my bank.

I have gotten a denied request nearly instantly after i tried to recover my account, and i never purchased anything to help me recover my account.

I know for a fact that my account got hacked, because it got a ban i think on 12 June 2019, and a week or so after, it was locked instead of banned.

I would really hate loosing my account after so much time i put into it.

Thanks in advance

Hi there
naruhas2

You need to submit earlier passwords than the last known one.
The last known password was found out by the hijacker and cannot be used in a recovery.

The Bank PIN cannot be used in a recovery because it cannot be checked.
Friends on your friends list cannot be used in a recovery because a hijacker could also have this information.
Likewise the bank contents cannot be used.

The key information you need to supply is the Creation information: Creation month/year, Creation ISP, Creation location, earliest password, earliest payment information.

Ask your family for help, they might remember the ISP. They might even remember when you started playing Runescape.
The earliest payment information does not need to be complete but you should know who paid, how they paid and their postcode and email.

An almost instant 'deny' is a bad sign.
It means one of the following:
* you are not identifying the account correctly (wrong login)
* you are not submitting any correct old passwords
* you are no longer in the same country where the account was created
* you are submitting via a VPN (don't)
* the login is correct but the rest of your information is too weak or left missing off the form.

Hi Malua

Unfortunately, i have actually never changed my password before, it was my creation password, and the one i had for all this time. If it does not work for recovery, shoulkd i leave it blank when trying to recover my account?

How accurate does my creation date have to be? I can barely remember the creation year, but i know it is in the beginning of 2000´s.

I always played as a free user, and never did any payment.

The creation ISP, is it case sensitive, and does it still work if the company we used, no longer exist?

Thanks for the fast reply.

Sincerly, naruhas

No, you can't leave that section blank, you HAVE to submit at least one password.
So, use that password but you may continue to struggle.

Accounts need to build up a history of passwords (in my opinion a minimum of four) just for a situation like this.

You need to be within a few months of the correct creation month at the furthest.
This is checked by a computer so, being wrong by one month might matter.

The information you submit is not case sensitive.
If the ISP no longer exists, submit the name they used back then.

Knowing that you never made a payment on the account is information you can mention in 'Other Comments' even if you have nothing for the payment history part.
If you are still at the creation address, say so in 'Other Comments'.

Each time you get denied, click on the link to find out the reasons.
Do the reasons ever change or are they always the same?

Alright, i will try to find the correct date, i might as well try and use as many combinations as i can, it is bound to be correct.

Regarding the question "Have you moved since you created the account" I have moved several times since i created the account, the new address, does that have to be the one i moved to the first time I moved, or is it the most recent time i moved?

The reasons fort denial does seem to change a bit, but the ones that always stick is the creation password thing, where it mentions the earliest password i can remember. And then the one with ISP, and date of creation. (Which i am hoping i will get at some point.)

Again, thanks for trying to help.

If it is asking for the new address, you would enter the address you were at the last time before you lost access to the account (last regular login location).
Address means town/state/country, does not need to be any more detailed.

You can also list the addresses you lived at during the life of the account in 'Other Comments'.
Town/state/country only needed.

"The reasons fort denial does seem to change a bit, but the ones that always stick is the creation password thing, where it mentions the earliest password i can remember"

This is a bit worrying.
Jagex usually remove a compromised password from the account history.
You know you are submitting the creation password because it is the only password ever set.
If that password has been removed it means there are no passwords in the account history and a recovery will always be auto-denied if no correct passwords are submitted.
Basically the account becomes unrecoverable. <- this is why it is important to have more than one password in the history.
Even if you nail all the other information, the lack of a correct, usable password will result in an auto-deny.

Is there any way for a moderator to actually see, if my account still have the password "attached" to it?

And i am absolutely positive, that i never changed the password, since it only makes sence in my own language. I thought it secure at the time, since no one would ever guess it ( wonderful mind of a child).

however, when i try to log in to my account, i still use the same password, where i then am told, my account is locked. It does seem to know, that it has a password, and i have to type just that phrase, otherwise it wont let me get to recover the account.

Can it be, that the password is only removed in the recovery part, and not actually on the account?

Yeah i tried that, and it says "wrong username or password" or something in that manner.

However, using the correct password, it ways that the account is locked, and i need to recover it.

I see your point, if the account no longer has a password, that it might not be recovered.

sad, i have 600+ hours on it. :--(

EDIT: Yeah it says: "Error! Your login or password was incorrect. Please try again" when typing the wrong password.
