In just a couple of days, this Thursday according to Hans, I will have officially marked 10 years as a citizen of RuneScape! :D

Although I'm normally not the type to create a thread all about myself, I have decided it is at long last time to do exactly that. I intend to use this thread to celebrate my very nearly 10-year history in Gielinor by looking back and by looking ahead. I'll even entertain questions and accept congratulations. Yes, I know plenty of others have logged 10+ years playing RuneScape already...however, before the end of this week, I will have done so in a way some would find unthinkable - 10 years as a pure F2P!

That's right. I am about to mark 10 years with this game as a free player. Impossible? No. I doubt I'm the only one to make it this far without ever being a member, even for a single day. I'm not aware of very many others who have been 100% pure F2P for a decade or more, and even if I was I am still celebrating the milestone all the same. Nearly ten years to the day since I was browsing the Miniclip forums and learned of this game called "RuneScape". I thought, "RuneScape, huh? Sounds interesting. I think I'll check it out." 10 years later, I am still here.

A lot has changed over those 10 years, but one thing that hasn't changed is that after all this time, I still find reasons to keep coming back to Gielinor.

I shall now begin the thread by posting this welcoming message, followed by some frequently asked questions I have received over my time here. Well, when I say frequently, obviously some have been asked more frequently than others. Well, some of them have truly been asked of me, and some of those more than once. In any event, here comes the FAQ. Don't say you weren't warned. Hold tight! ;)

Were you named after Aslan, "The Great Lion", from The Chronicles of Na*nia?

No. Neither was I named in part after Dak, Luke Skywalker's gunner during the Battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, who felt he could take on the whole Empire himself.

I came up with the name "Aslon Dak" for a fighter character I created, but never played, for Dungeons & Dragons. The name is a variation on a character from the Doctor Who comic strip named Abslom Daak. Abslom, a human criminal from the 26th century found guilty of numerous crimes, was given a choice between being vaporised or exiled to a Dalek-controlled planet, where he wasn't expected to live very long. He chose the latter. With his weapon of choice, the chainsword, Abslom began his life as a Dalek Killer on the planet Mazam, where he met and fell in love with the princess Taiyin. She is killed by a Dalek Daak had failed to completely destroy. As she dies, Taiyin tells Daak "For you the sentence is harder...you have to live." Abslom vows he'll do better than just live. He intends to kill every last stinking Dalek in the galaxy!

That's the origin of my name. I also based my character's basic look on Daak, as well as his fondness for drinking and for fighting. I improvised the rest.

Where were you born?

In Lumbridge. When I was of age, I journeyed to Tutorial Island where I learned what I needed to know in order to embark on my career as an adventurer.

Are you a member? Have you ever been, or will you ever be, a member?

No.

Do you have a pet?

Yes, a baby troll. He is called Cabbage, in spite of the fact he did not want to be named for a vegetable. Also, I have Eek the Spider, but she spends a lot of time hanging out with Diango. Usually I visit with her each Halloween.

Why do you prefer using a longsword instead of a scimitar or 2-handed sword?

I've always liked to train my Attack, Defence, and Strength equally. Not sure why. I just have. Pre-EOC, the only practical way to do this was to use the controlled(thrust)attack, and the longsword had a higher-hitting, though slightly slower version of this sort of stab attack than the scimitar. Sure, the 2-hander hits harder than both the longsword or the scimitar, but I like to employ a shield. Since EOC, this makes even more sense, since without a shield you cannot use the rejuvenate ability. I do keep a rune 2-handed handy for those rare occasions when extra damage becomes a priority, however in nearly all cases I find a trusty rune long does just fine.

Do you even own a scimmy?

Currently, I have 41 rune scimitars in my bank. I bought the first one a long time ago, in case I decided to use one in place of the longsword, just for variety. All the rest I have found as drops. For some reason, instead of selling them I simply started collecting them. Not sure why. I just have.

Aside from the Rune Longsword, what are some of your other favorite weapons?

The Exquisite Claw, Exquisite Whip, and the fiercely fowl weapon known as the Rubber Chicken.

Seriously?

Yes. I've used the RC to take out King Scorpions, even a Moss Giant. Took a while, but I did it. One of these days, I'm thinking of going to kill a Lesser Demon wielding just the Rubber Chicken. It's on the list of things I want to try. Some day, when I get around to it.

You say you are a Guthix Knight. Please explain.

Without going into great detail, we are warriors who follow nearly all the teachings of Guthix. We acknowledge him as a Tier 2 God, but do not so much worship him as we do admire his accomplishments as well as his intentions. While we see the need for balance between Law and Chaos, we are not so even-handed as Guthix himself between the virtues of Good and Evil.

A mix of both Order and Freedom is the best way to bring about the most amount of Good for the greatest number of beings. As alignment goes, whereas Guthix would be pure Neutral, consider us to be Neutral Good. We abide by a certain code, but I've already gone into more detail than I had intended.

So how many other Guthix Knights are there?

At least two, who I know personally, but beyond that I will not say.

Who did you support during the World Events?

Saradomin and Armadyl.

Are you in a clan?

I led a clan for awhile. I started it with my best friend, then two other friends joined us. I was thinking of disbanding the clan anyway, but when the 6th Age began the four of us agreed to break up the clan. My three friends have decided to create a new clan based upon service to Seren. I consider myself friendly to Seren and her followers, but remain free from the responsibilities of a clan.

Would you like to join my clan?

Thank you for asking, but no.

Could you give me free money?

Could I? Yes. Will I? No.

I had a quick chat with Hans this afternoon, and was told I will be able to claim the 10-year veteran cape tomorrow!

However, I am on the east coast of the U.S.A. and my reset hour is 8pm local time. This means I will be able to claim the 10-year cape in two hours! :D

Thank you both for your kind words! :) The three of us sure have seen some times together.

As for my classic black cape, Holly...well you know me. :p I'm currently wearing the 10-year cape, but I have the black cape in my backpack so I can switch back to it at any time.

Oh, and the other night, after I got the cape, part of my celebration included making several kills wielding the dreaded Rubber Chicken! I didn't go to the Lesser Demons though. Instead, I went for an ever bigger challenge - the Deadly Red Spiders! I went into the Varrock sewers and just before I reached the spiders' lair, I switched weapons and began to attack the Deadly Reds using the Rubber Chicken. I killed the first one while using Momentum. That took about a minute. Then, I switched to Full Manual and killed another 5 Deadly Reds using abilities and the 'Chicken. Ever employ the Overpower ability while armed with a Rubber Chicken? More like Underpower. Certainly underwhelming, as you'd expect. Still, I managed to hit in the 700s with it. Not exactly the most powerful weapon in all of RuneScape indeed! However, it was fun and that's what's important. Well, fun for me anyway...not so much for the Deadly Reds. :D

Congrats on getting your 10-year cape, Holly! I know very well you started a few days after I did. ;) Adriana, you'll get to claim one someday. I know you qualify for a 5-year cape anyway, even though I know capes aren't really your style. Hehe.

Aslon Dak: still 'Scaping after 10-plus years!

Oh, I like that. I think I'll use it as a signature. :D

Yay! Congratulations Aslon and Holly! :)

You are missed at the clan meetings, Aslon. I hope you find what it is you are looking for. ^_^

Thank you, Ashe! Yeah, I remember those early times...the four of us getting together in the room above the Varrock General Store, comparing notes on the monsters we'd fought, the quests we'd completed, the best places to train, and so on. Ah, yes!

I reckon you must have mixed feelings regarding the return of Elf City, yes? I know they didn't exactly treat you well there. Even so, it's still part of your heritage. Perhaps one day you'll go back there. :)

Good job heretic. Congratulations to you as well, Holly.

Saradomin be with you both! :)

Thank you, zealot. ;)

You do know I supported Saradomin during The Battle Of Lumbridge, right? I even helped him out on a little job afterwards. Well, it was myself and a certain knight from Falador. He didn't make it back quite all the way, and your god wasn't a great deal of help to him!

So what is The Big S up to these days? He seems to be keeping somewhat of a low profile lately. It would've been nice had he stuck around and helped out with the rebuilding of Lumby - but I suppose he had bigger and better things on his mind, yes? :P

So, to cap my month-long celebration of earning my 10-year-vet cape I bought a couple of RS $25 cards this past weekend and spent them on runecoins. In addition to getting a pair of pretty cool-looking weapon overrides, I finally boosted my bank, something I really should've done a while ago.

Now that I have plenty of extra bank space, I've decided to revisit dungeoneering. I've completed a few floors so far this week. My immediate goal was going to be to reach level 60 dungeoneering. However, more and more I am recalling there are other issues in regards to dungeoneering which annoy me, aside from needing to enter the dungeons wearing nothing and with an empty backpack.

I haven't gained any new levels so far. My dungeoneering level remains at 57. I am considering maybe just getting one new level then taking another long break from dungeoneering. In addition to throwing off the xp counts of some of my skills which I like to keep even with other skills, the bosses so far have simply not been enough of a challenge. If I continue to be both annoyed and bored with dungeoneering, my return to it may very well be short-lived.

Time will tell. It always does...

Well, as I suspected, it didn't take all that long before I got bored training dungeoneering. I have since abandoned the skill/minigame in favor of returning to regular training. I did manage to gain a level, raising my dungeoneering level to 58. I didn't find any of the journals I've been missing. Now I am working on restoring the balance between my ATT, DEF, and STR levels. Lifting those heavy bars blocking a few of the doors forced me to gain some extra strength XP. At least I have rebalanced my firemaking and woodcutting levels once more.

After I rebalance my combat skills, I plan to keep training combat while waiting for the Halloween event. Even after 10+ years, I still look forward to the holiday events here! :)

Oh, and I found another rune scimitar early this morning while training on the roach soldiers. My collection of these now numbers 42. ^_^

Both the Halloween event and the Bonus XP Weekend are behind us now. While I didn't get a chance to play quite as much as I would've liked, I did manage to score all the F2P rewards from Death, along with a fair number of XP lamps. Many of the lamps I used to get closer to reaching level 86 in my four highest skills - Attack, Constitution, Defense, and Strength. However, I did apply a few XP lamps to other skills I was closer to gaining a level in. One of these was Mining.

I did not gain a Mining level over the course of the Bonus XP Weekend. However, the 7000-something XP I was short I managed to earn earlier this evening. As a result, a short time ago I achieved level-80 Mining! :)

I now have five skills as a pure F2P which are at level 80 or above. Several others are in the 70s, and I expect one of these will end up being the next skill that I gain a level in. Most likely it'll be cooking, which is currently at 75.

Time will tell. It always does...

As I predicted, Cooking was the next skill of mine to be leveled up. Earlier tonight I achieved 76 Cooking, followed quickly thereafter by getting 74 Fishing.

Tonight I also passed the 2, 000, 000 XP mark in regards to Mining. :)

I worked on getting my Crafting up a little tonight as well. This remains one of my lowest ranked skills, along with Dungeoneering, both of which are currently at 59. I'd like to get them both at least to 60 by year's end. Crafting should be simple enough, but Dungeoneering...I don't know. This skill just annoys me.

I'd also like to gain at least one more Combat Level before the year is over.

The success I have in reaching these goals, I suspect, may in part depend on how distracting the Christmas event is this year, as well as the Thanksgiving event(if there is one).

I raised my Crafting to level 60 earlier tonight, with the help of one of those new smouldering XP lamps...even though they have no effect on BXP if you are F2P. I guess that's to be expected, but still I had hoped these lamps would enable me to burn off that 25k BXP cluttering up my skills tab.

So now the only free-to-train skill I have that is not level 60 or higher is Dungeoneering, currently at level 59.

Dungeoneering...ugh. O_o

Monday night, I met another goal I had wanted to attain before the end of the year:

Through training, and the skillful use of Festive Lamps, I raised my Attack, Constitution, Defense, and Strength all to level 86, thereby gaining another Combat level: 107

I might hit CL 108 after gaining another level in either Magic or Ranged, but if I do not, that's fine.

One last EOY task still to complete. Yes, that's right...Dungeoneering level 60. I've used a couple glowing lamps on the skill to get me that much closer, but have resisted using the more powerful XP lamps to get Dungeoneering 60 for two reasons:

1) I have had better uses for the Festive Lamps(see above - also, I got Smithing 76 tonight...anyone need any addy longswords?) :)

2)As I am so close to that final 2014 goal(now about 2200 XP to go), I'd prefer to actually earn that last bit of Dungeoneering XP - and what better time to do that than during the upcoming Dungeoneering Weekend?! ^_^

I will succeed, one way or another.

It is done! Earlier tonight I successfully reached the last of my end-of-the-year goals. I attained level 60 Dungeoneering. :)

Ironically enough, although this weekend was a Dungeoneering weekend, I missed out on practically all of it, since I was not on much Saturday, and I spent the late morning and all afternoon Sunday catching up on sleep - in fact, I only logged in about a half hour before the Sunday to Monday reset!

Fortunately, in spite of not being on for most of Dungeoneering weekend, I managed to get more than the 2200-something XP I needed to reach level 60 Dungeoneering after only one small solo dungeon! I completed that one, then a second before returning to other skilling tasks.

Now all my F2P skills are at least level 60, with all member skills at level 5, even Construction(thanks to World Event 2)! I'm planning to spend any remaining Festive Lamps on Mining and Smithing. While I have no more goals set for the end of 2014, I am already looking ahead to 2015. I currently have Mining level 80 and Smithing level 76. As I once thought how cool it will be to someday be able to wear and wield rune items, now I think how cool it will be to be able to mine rune and to smith rune items. Will 2015 be the year I reach those particular goals? Guthix knows, but I will certainly work towards reaching them! ^_^

Earlier this afternoon, I completed a daily challenge - to craft 70 woodcutting urns. As a result, I gained a Crafting level of 61. This brought my total level to 1228. :)

Now there is no longer a two-way tie for my lowest ranked skill. That dubious honor solely belongs to Dungeoneering, which remains at level 60.

Yeah...Dungeoneering... O_o

During the upcoming BXP Weekend, I plan to focus on Ranged, Fishing, and Crafting, although I'd also like to work on Smithing and Mining - if I have the time.

In preparation, I stockpiled some iron ore to use in the Artisans' Workshop.

Gaining a couple of skill levels over this weekend would be nice, but my main goal is to finally use up the otherwise useless BXP I've acquired through WE1, the 2013 Christmas event, and using a pair of falling stars on my Fishing skill as an experiment.

Good luck everyone with whatever you hope to accomplish during BXP Weekend! :p

I'd have to say last month's BXP Weekend went well. Not only did I succeed in using up all my bonus XP, I gained a few levels in the process:

Fishing 75
Ranged 62
Mining 81

As for long-term goals I would like to reach later this year, I haven't really settled on too many I plan to really focus on intently. Gaining a combat level ranks pretty high up the list, though that will most likely happen via Ranged, which I don't train very often.

Aside from that, I would like to find my 50th Rune Scimitar in time for summer. :p

A few hours ago, I managed to reach Smithing level 78, thanks to two of the three XP lamps earned by completing this year's Easter event, followed by a little quality time in the Artisans Workshop! :D

Ok, so it's not a 99...yet...but it's a step closer.

Right then - anyone need an adamant square shield? :p

It has been a productive evening, combat-wise. A few hours ago, I reached Magic level 75, thanks to a magic training dummy. Then I decided to focus on Ranged, and raised that skill to 64, with the unwilling help of many, many scorps. Hehe.

Unfortunately, neither of these gains increased my overall Combat Level, which is still at 107. Unless I luck out and gain a Prayer level to raise my CL, I reckon I'll still be at level 107 when Tuska arrives next week. I did work on melee for a bit as well tonight, but I have a looong way to go before leveling those.

WE3 should be good for some serious XP gains...and not just combat gains either.

After all, when the dust settles and Tuska is defeated someone is going to have to cook up all that bacon! :p

If RuneScape had an 11-year veteran cape, then today would be the first day I'd qualify for such an achievement item! :D

11 years of playing RS may not seem to be much of a milestone to those who have played since the earliest days of RS1, or even going back to the Devious Mud days, but it is a significant amount of time to devote to a single on-line game.

I have seen many developments to RS over the course of these past 11 years, and to this day I still find reasons to log in practically every day. Furthermore, I have no plans to stop playing any time soon either.

During the past 11 years, how many days have I been a member? Zero. Furthermore, I have no plans to become a member any time down the road either.

This weekend, I will start my 12th year as a citizen of Gielinor. It's been fun, and to this day I still enjoy my 'Scaping time. Really, that's what it's all about. Some players obsess way too much about being/remaining #1 on the high scores, or they start twitching if they aren't earning the absolute maximum XP/hour every hour they are logged in. RuneScape, like any game, is intended to be fun! Even on the days when I have only a very short amount of time to log in, just to get my daily tasks done, I don't worry about real life being an XP waste any more than I consider RS to be a waste of time in real life. I make time for both, as much as I can, without stressing out about any of it. Whether I am on to kill, skill, or mostly just chill, I end up at least a little more successful - in one regard or another - than I was before logging in. To me, that's a positive gaming experience. In other words...fun! :)

This afternoon, I finally reached mining level 85! :D

No more drunken mining for me in order to obtain runite ore! :p

"Drunken mining?", you may be wondering. Yes, well I've been bringing a few dwarven stouts with me into the resource dungeon in the Mining Guild below the east Falador bank to get a couple rune ores before the drink would wear off, returning me to Mining level 84. Now I can mine runite completely sober!

I think that's for the best, considering how an accident might occur swinging a rune pickaxe around while under the influence of dwarven stout. ;)

For now, all I can do with the runite ores is stockpile them until I reach Smithing level 85. Currently, my Smithing is at 83. Someday though...someday.

Bring on that Mining/Smithing rework - I am ready! :)

Yesterday I completed a "Bury 15 Big Bones" daily challenge. Normally, this would be no big deal, as I've done quite a few of these ever since F2P got daily challenges.

However, turning in this particular challenge resulted in raising my Prayer to level 72, which in turn boosted my Combat Level to 109, after being stuck at level 108 for what has seemed to be ages! :D

This most likely will not last for long, as lately I've been training combat a little more than usual(and combat is one of my most favorite activities to train). I have less than 30k xp to go before I raise Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength from 87 to 88. Once this happens, I expect I ought to reach CL 110! :)

After that, I'll probably be at that Combat Level for another lengthy period of time. :p

Thank you Dear! :D

Indeed, with the help of quite a few scorpions, earlier tonight I raised Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength all to level 88, which got me to Combat Level 110! As an added bonus, I went on to attain Ranged 71. ^_^

I expect it'll be quite some time before I level melee again, or gain another Combat Level. Still, tonight's gains get me that much closer to maxed combat! :)

The scorps thought they had it bad before! Hehe.

Oh, and one more random fact: my Total Level is now 1312. I don't know what has compelled me to share this information. I just figured I would. :p

Back on December 19th, 2015, I posted here to announce I'd reached Ranged level 70, which left me with only two free-player skills under 70.

Early this morning, thanks to the Invasion of Port Sarim event, I finally raised one of those two skills to level 70...Crafting! Yes, I can now craft diamond amulets! :D

This leaves me with only one skill under 70. If you've followed my thread previously, you can most likely guess which skill. Yes, that's right: Dungeoneering. Through the use of several small Dungeoneering XP lamps, also gained through the Port Sarim event, I now have level 64 Dungeoneering.

Perhaps I will reach the goal of getting all F2P skills to at least 70 before the end of the year. It'll require more Dungeoneering than I care to do - or a lot of XP lamps! :p

By the way, my Total Level is now 1320 as a pure free player. :)

This past Monday, I finally raised my Smithing to level 85! Now, not only am I able to mine runite, I can smelt rune bars and smith rune daggers! :D I'd never bothered getting a rune dagger previously. Now I have three rune daggers plus three off-hand rune daggers in the bank.

This afternoon, I read on the news page the mining/smithing rework is being put off until next year. I'm not sure how I feel about that, mostly because I am not certain exactly how the rework will affect free players. If F2P will be able to mine any of the new ores and smith any new items, that'll be something to look forward to. However, I have to say it would be anti-climatic to go instantly from being able to smith only a couple of rune items to being able to make pretty much every rune item. More EasyScape. Bah! I prefer working towards a goal, not having it dropped into my lap fully completed for me.

So...anyone need a rune dagger? ;)

This afternoon, after completing my daily tasks, I took a little trip to The Runespan. As a result, I managed to raise my Runecrafting to level 80! :)

Until The Runespan came along, I really hated Runecrafting. For quite some time it was my lowest ranked skill.

Of the 16 skills open to free players beyond level 5, I now have 9 of them in the 80s, and another 6 in the 70s.

Then, there is Dungeoneering...

Today I mark 12 years as a citizen of RuneScape! :D

I still remember that fateful day when I was checking out the links on the old Mini-Clip website(does that even still exist?). I came across a link to this site called RuneScape and thought, "Hmm. This sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out." Shortly thereafter, I did check it out, and the rest is RuneScape lore. ;)

That was exactly 12 years ago today. Where does the time go?

Thanks to everyone at Jagex for this great game, and to all the cool players I've met over the years who add to the RuneScape experience!

Onward to Year 13! :)

One week ago, I raised both Mining and Smithing to level 86, thanks to mining a lot of addy and rune ores, as well as using 250 protean bars to do some protean rune smithing! :D

Earlier this hour, by doing a spot of Fishing on Tutorial Island and by completing a Cooking challenge(39 meat pizzas), I raised both of those skills...to level 86.

A pattern is emerging. ;) :p

Dungeoneering, my lowest ranked F2P skill, is still at level 65, even after using two XP lamps on that skill within the past week, including one just last night. I'm getting slightly over 2, 000 Dungeoneering XP per small prismatic lamp.

Dungeoneering level 86 will take me considerably longer to reach. Bah. O_o

On July 19th, 2016, I posted that I hoped to reach at least level 70 in all my F2P skills before the end of the year.

I am happy to announce I successfully reached that goal this morning by getting Dungeoneering level 70! :D

I reached Dungeoneering level 67 back on December 7th, level 68 on December 11th, and level 69 on December 15th.

So, have I been doing a lot of Dungeoneering these past couple of weeks? Hah! :p

No, I did use a medium XP lamp to help boost my Dungeoneering. However, most of the Dungeoneering XP I've recently earned came from using advanced pulse cores while doing quite a bit of seal sliding! :)

What...did you really think I've been spending so much time Dungeoneering the traditional way? O_o

So with time to spare before 2016 comes to an end, I have managed to raise all my skills into the 70s and 80s, except for member skills(which are all at 5, except Invention of course). To be honest, I was beginning to wonder if Dungeoneering level 70 would have to wait until after the start of the new year - but I made it! Thank you Xmas event! :D

Merry Christmas one and all! :)

Happy New Year fellow citizens of Gielinor! :D

As I mentioned in the previous post, I managed to reach my final goal for 2016 before the end of the year - Dungeoneering level 70. It turned out my last XP gain before 2017 was actually Dungeoneering 71! Now who saw that coming? I sure didn't! O_o

A few hours ago, I got my first skill gain for 2017: Smithing level 87! Yes, I am now able to smith rune maces! See, this is why I am of two minds regarding the upcoming Mining/Smithing rework. While it will be nice to have additional ores to work with(presuming any of the new ores will be F2P), I really hope the rebalancing of the tables won't result in suddenly being able to smith every rune item at level 50, with no further incentive beyond that for free players to keep leveling Smithing! We should always have goals. We need to continue striving for new gains. Otherwise, what is the point? We may as well "train" bankstanding! :p

I've not decided upon any new goals for this new year so far. A bit early for that, in my estimation. Who knows, maybe I'll go for Dungeoneering level 72! ;)

Last night I managed to raise Prayer to level 75, Guthix be praised!

This was accomplished by completing another Big Bones challenge, after showing off my dance moves at the Spring Fayre. :p

I'm not certain which skill I'll raise next...but with a Double XP Weekend coming up, I should be able to make some good gains. :)

While training on some deadly red spiders in the Varrock sewers this afternoon, I managed to raise my Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength all to level 89, which brought up my Combat Level to 111! My Total Level is now 1384. I also noticed my total XP is over 50 million, which probably happened a couple of days ago. I also now have over 46.2 million coins!

Pretty nice way to start a new year! :D

Today I reached Mining level 89! :)

Mining is now in a five-way tie for my second highest skill, along with Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength.

My highest skill is still Smithing, at level 92, which I attained shortly before the Mining & Smithing Rework went live.

I am considering working on raising my Fletching level, currently at only 26. I've not trained that skill for some time, not since shortly after it became an F2P skill. :p

Today I took 800 water balloons out of my bank to pop them for XP. After using more than half to balance out my Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength, I had 331 left over. I opted to pop them all and put the XP towards Fletching, raising that skill to level 36.

I still have 2000 water balloons left in the bank. My bank has many strange and wonderful things in it. Earlier, I took out my Rubber Chicken and my Yo-Yo to play with. It had been awhile since I last had fun with those. :)

1.2XP Weekend, Day 1

This afternoon, I made some shieldbows, steel & mithril arrows, and steel & silver bolts. This raised my Fletching from level 36 to 48! :)

I also made some mithril arrowheads and did some protean elder rune smithing to reach Smithing level 93! :D

I still have 450 protean bars I haven't used yet. I don't know that I'll reach Smithing 94 by the end of the weekend, but I'll certainly get closer to it!

1.2XP Weekend, Day 2

After spending a good portion of the afternoon and early evening yesterday(as it's now after Midnight)gathering materials to create 1000 opal, jade, and topaz bolts, I raised my Fletching from level 48 to 50! :)

I also did a lot of Smithing today, using up all the protean bars I had left. I also made 40 more rune off-hand longswords, and a set of adamant burial armor, plus the bolts. This brought me SO close to 94 Smithing - I am only 210XP away! Unfortunately, my internet went down for a bit, interrupting me as I was making three more sets of fully upgraded adamant armor, to be turned into more burial armor sets. I will finish those later today, getting to 94 Smithing in the process! :D

Internet came back a short time ago. Now that I've posted this, it's time for bed. More XP gains to come later today! :)

1.2XP Weekend, Day 3

As expected, I easily reached Smithing level 94 this afternoon! All it took was a few swings of the hammer against the third of three adamant platebodies +2 I had been working on as part of three sets of burial armor. I finished those today and turned them in. I also made 20 more rune off-hand longswords. I now have 100 of those in my bank, to go along with the 100 rune longswords I have in there. After burning up over 400, 000 Bonus XP, I now have over 8 million XP in Smithing! :)

No Fletching gains today. For the 1.2XP Weekend though, I gained 14 Fletching levels, going from level 36 to 50! :)

After I got sick of Smithing, I relaxed by spending some quality time attacking ice giants and ice warriors. I still have to gain over 300, 000 XP in Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength before getting to level 90 in those skills.

Tonight I reached Fletching level 51, after finishing turning the 250 maple logs I had in the bank into unstrung maple shortbows. 228 of those maple logs I won on TH the day after 1.2XP Weekend ended! Of course, right? :p

I have 250 bowstrings ready to use. I just have to decide if I'm going to use 5 more pulse cores to get a 10% XP boost, or get the same boost from buying a portable fletcher. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone at the Grand Exchange already using a portable fletcher! :)

Today I closed out the month of February by gaining one more Fletching level, reaching level 52! I could fletch mith darts, if F2P were able to make darts. I strung 100 of those 250 unstrung maple shortbows I mentioned previously. I decided not to use either pulse cores or a portable fletcher.

After 100 shortbows, I got bored and left the G.E. to do some PvM at the Stronghold of Security. I ended up finding two left skull halves and two right skull halves. I put them together and placed them in my bank, for a total of 10 strange skulls, not including my completed skull scepter. My bank is an odd place. :p

March is off to a great start! Tonight, while mining runite in the Mining Guild, I reached Mining level 90! My second skill raised into the 90s!

What made this accomplishment extra special is that during those final 10, 700 or so XP I was also in private chat with a good friend of mine, who was also busy training Mining, on a different world. :)

The rest of my F2P skills are all in the 70s or 80s, except for Fletching, which currently stands at 52.

Tonight I reached Fletching level 53! :)

In part, I got to this level by making 20 steel crossbows. I had never made crossbows before. After gathering raw beef from fallen cows to make sinew, buying teak logs to fletch into stocks, smithing the steel arms, and then finally assembling all the pieces into crossbows, I learned something about myself - I do not like making crossbows. :p

One more level, and then I will be able to create mithril bolts!

At the moment, I now have 500 of those maple shieldbows in the bank. Once I get around to putting strings on them, that should earn me a good chunk of XP!

Of course, this will mean several more trips to the flax field in Taverley. Yay. Hoo.

Yesterday, I received a Fletching challenge, to make 336 maple shieldbows. I worked on that this morning. After I fletched all 336 shieldbows(u), I began to string them. After stringing #122, I reached Fletching level 64! :)

I finished stringing the rest of the maple shieldbows, then redeemed the challenge to receive my rewards. I got a mystery bag containing 15 uncut dragonstones and 3,072 coins. I was also granted 45,262 XP in Fletching, which was more than enough to get me to level 65! :)

I can now make diamond bolts! Now I have to find a decent source of diamonds. I rarely find them in geodes and never seem to obtain them by mining uncommon gem rocks!

Tonight, after spending the past few days making 150 adamant arrows and 2800 adamant bolts, I reached Fletching level 67! :)

Afterwards, I made 150 additional adamant arrows, and 200 more adamant bolts. I sold the arrows for feathers. The bolts I added to my bank. Currently, I have 5000 of those. Once I have enough ruby and diamond bolt tips, these will become ruby and diamond bolts.

Rubies are easy enough to find, but uncut diamonds are another matter. It appears the resource dungeon in Al-Kharid will be a good source for both gems. However, that requires Dungeoneering level 75 to enter, and my Dungeoneering level is only 72, so it looks like I'm going to be doing some DG training before too long! O_o

Damn.

I didn't gain any levels this April 1st - no fooling! :p

However, I did for the first time ever mine a crashed star! As I was headed towards the gem rocks at the Al-Kharid mining site, I saw this large, odd-looking rock right in the middle of the mining area, where there normally is no rock. When I saw what it was, I began mining it right away. Another guy was already there mining it. Later on, someone else joined in. The star was a size 3 when I started. When we broke through the core, I spoke with the star sprite we had rescued. I was awarded:

152 cosmic runes
52 astral runes
20 gold stone spirits
50,002 coins
a 15-minute mining buff, granting double ores while mining

I also got quite a bit of Mining XP. :)

Afterwards, I worked on a Fletching challenge: 336 yew shortbows O_o

I have all the parts. I just have to string the unstrung shortbows - all 336 of them - and I can claim the reward. I completed a challenge once to fletch 336 maple shieldbows, which granted me over 45,000 XP. These yew shortbows should bring me a lot of Fletching XP, enough to gain at least one level! I'll be finishing that later today. We'll see how it goes!

Oh, and after doing a bit of Dungeoneering over the weekend, I remembered all the reasons why I hate this skill! The Al-Kharid resource dungeon is just going to have to wait a while longer...probably a LOT longer!

I just finished Fletching those 336 yew shortbows, which got me 7375 XP away from Fletching level 68! When I turned them in for my reward, I was granted 45,262 XP - which not only got me to level 68, but I am now only 25,131 XP from Fletching 69! I will then be able to make runite bolts and crossbows. :)

In the mystery bag, I received 18 reinforced dragon bones and 8004 coins.

Thank you very much, River! Nice name, by the way. I am a long-time Whovian, so I appreciate the reference! In fact, as I reveal on page 1 of this thread, my own screen name was inspired by the Doctor Who comic strip. :)

However, my RS anniversary is on the 4th of September, not April. I have exactly 5 months to go before I can claim that 15-year cape. I am looking forward to that!

No problemo! Yeah, I started watching the classic Tom Baker episodes when I was a kid on the local PBS stations. I kept watching through Peter Davison and The Doctors who followed him. I also managed to catch up on the first three Doctors' stories. I've seen all the episodes which still exist, up to Peter Capaldi's final season. So far, I've only watched the first three episodes from that season, plus the Christmas story. Some day I'll catch up. My sister recorded the entire season for me. :)

Someone over at Forum Games started calling me "Dalek Killer"! Hahaha! :p

Yes, from what I've read, the 15 Year Cape is pretty cool. I read that it is Best In Slot as far as capes available to F2P go. The cape's emote looks epic, and the cape itself looks nice too. I liked the 5 Year Cape's design, but the 10 Year Cape is kind of...loud, like something The 6th Doctor would wear! :p

This morning, I completed a Fletching challenge: 336 yew shortbows

Before I had finished fletching the unstrung shortbows, I reached Fletching level 69! :)

Once I had finished stringing these yew shortbows, I was only 42,707 XP away from Fletching level 70. Turning in this challenge granted me 45,262 XP, more than enough to reach Fletching level 70! Now all my F2P skills are in the 70s or 80s, aside from Mining and Smithing, both of which are in the 90s! :)

Inside the challenge mystery bag, I found 51 water talismans and 2,688 coins.

I can now make runite bolts and rune crossbows! :D

Also, late last night I got the silver hawk pet from an antique chest. My pet list has been updated to include this new addition. :)

This morning, while mining iron ore in the dwarven mine, I reached Mining level 91! :)

The funny thing is, once I finished mining the iron, I ran straight over to start mining Luminite, where I was immediately hit by a pulse core blast! Oh, what timing! :p

Tonight, I turned in a challenge to fletch 336 yew shieldbows. After I had made roughly half of them, I had reached Fletching level 71! :) The 45,262 XP I got as a reward got me fairly close to the next level.

The challenge mystery bag contained 584 coins and 290 mahogany planks. Those sold quite well on the Grand Exchange! :D

Thank you, Threes! That'll take a while. Fortunately, I'm in no great hurry.

My Total Level is currently 1444. I expect the next skill I level up will be one of my lowest skills, probably either Dungeoneering or Fletching. In both of these, I am currently a little over 12,000 XP from leveling. :)

Thanks Threes! Last night, I got one step closer. As I predicted, I managed to level one of my lowest skills. I reached Dungeoneering level 73! :) I did it through actual Dungeoneering too, not just using lamps - although those did help along the way. :p

While training DG last night, I replaced my bound fractite platebody with a freshly smithed zephyrium version. When I cashed out everything at the end, I was about 1,800 rusty coins short of being able to buy one more zeph ore, which I'd hoped to do in order to upgrade my pickaxe. Maybe next time, though first I'd like to upgrade my bound platelegs from fractite to zephyrium. I also want to replace my bound fractite helm with a zephyrium longsword. After I upgrade my pickaxe, I can do the same with my hatchet. Then, I'd only need to find six zeph ores per dungeon to get to max gear, unless I find an argonite item to use. Worst case, I'd be stuck with a fractite/zephyrium mix of gear, which should be more than a match for any DG boss in F2P - at least the ones I have fought so far.

Last night, I fought a level 102 skeleton. I was using a novite longsword and an off-hand argonite rapier! Sure, I won but it took longer than it should have! :o

Now I only have two more DG levels to get before I can gain access to the Al-Kharid resource dungeon! :)

Nice work, Holly. Ashe is nearly there. Last I knew, she was at level 47.

Speaking of leveling Dungeoneering...

About an hour ago, I got to DG level 74! :) Only one more level to reach until I can finally access the Al Kharid resource dungeon! This will provide me with a good source of uncut diamonds, which I'll need to fletch diamond bolts.

Since this is the final reward unlocked through F2P Dungeoneering, once I attain that goal, I can be DONE with DG! :D

All of that changed on 7 January 2019 as part of the Mining & Smithing rework:

The resource dungeon in the Al Kharid mine was open to F2P. However, you need DG level 75 to access it.

There are now several types of gem rocks located at the Al Kharid mine that are F2P! Anyone can mine common gem rocks for lapis lazuli, opal, jade, and red topaz gems. There are also uncommon gem rocks that yield sapphires, emeralds, and rubies, but to mine these you need at least level 20 Mining.

Inside the Al Kharid resource dungeon, there are precious gem rocks. These contain emeralds, rubies, and diamonds, but you need Mining 25 or more to mine them.

See what you miss when you spend all your time on DG! :p

^ Thanks! Yes, the time draws closer and closer...

Tonight, while working towards level 75 Dungeoneering, I trained Fletching quite a bit. I even bought 6 bovistrangler branches with the rusty coins I had after completing another dungeon, and fletched those into traps. When I left Daemonheim tonight, I was 201 XP away from Fletching level 72.

I turned in my daily challenge, which was to complete a DG floor on Complexity 6. This gave me over 42,000 XP in Dungeoneering, so now I am just over 50,300 XP short of my goal of DG 75! Afterwards, I picked 12 flax in Taverley, and Crafted them into bowstrings. Then I teleported to Lumbridge. There, I claimed my free hamper of food from the Lumbridge Castle Cook, then ran to the roof and collected logs. I fletched and strung 8 shieldbows, and fletched 4 more unstrung shieldbows. This got me 1 XP away from the next Fletching level! However, I still had 4 bowstrings left. Stringing those bowshields put me over the threshold of Fletching level 72 by 39 XP! :)

Fletching is now in a three-way tie for my lowest-ranked F2P skill, along with Firemaking and Woodcutting. I have three other skills in the 70s: Crafting and Dungeoneering at level 74, plus Prayer at level 76. The rest are in the 80s and 90s.

Also today, I finished upgrading all my DG armor to argonite, after finding and binding a nice pair of argonite gauntlets. I also found another argonite 2h sword - and this time when I bound it to me, it actually went into the bind pool! It's in there, along with an argonite spear and my dual zephyrium longswords. Still no luck in finding an argonite hatchet or pickaxe. I also haven't found any of those three journals from the first 30 floors I've been lacking.

More Dungeoneering this weekend, I suppose. Bah.

This afternoon, while Dungeoneering, I reached Woodcutting level 73! :)

While doing more DG tonight, I reached Firemaking level 73! :)

This brings my Total Level to 1449. I expect my next level gain will be Dungeoneering level 75, at long last! I reckon three more decent raids should do the trick.

Today I also finished fully upgrading all my bind pool items to argonite after finding an off-hand argonite longsword! I destroyed both my zephyrium longswords to make room. Now I have all 5 argonite armor items bound, along with the pair of longswords, a 2h sword, and a spear. I have one free spot left in the bind pool. If I find an argonite maul, I think that's what I'll put there.

No, I don't bother with mage or ranged during DG. I barely train those outside of DG. :p

Last night, I came SO close to getting Dungeoneering level 75 - when I finished for the night, I was only 87 XP away from attaining that goal! O_o

Tonight, I got it! :)

Finally, I can be done with DG! In addition to unlocking the last resource dungeon open to F2P, the Al Kharid hidden mine, I also unlocked floor 38. Not that it'll do me any good, since F2P cannot venture below floor 35.

I later went to the Al Kharid mine, and entered the resource dungeon there. This granted me 11,400 DG XP. I mined the precious gem rocks, and got quite a few diamonds during the two trips I made there. Naturally, I also found quite a few more emeralds and rubies.

Now I can focus on fixing my XP totals for Fishing/Cooking and Firemaking/Woodcutting. I also need to raise Attack and Defence, to bring those back in line with my Strength, which got unevenly raised from opening all those wretched force-bar barred doors.

I never did find and bind that argonite maul. I also didn't track down those three missing journals. Ah well, the important thing is I reached my goal of DG level 75! No more F2P unlocks to gain - I'm done! :D

Tonight, while working on stage 2 of the Breaking the Storm event, I got my Smithing up to level 95! :) I did it by forging 2475 iron rivets. I stopped after I had made 3006 rivets.

This event was pretty crowded, and someone hit me with a pulse core blast, giving me a 2% XP boost on top of the 10% XP boost we get just for training at this event. That certainly helped me get this level, but the XP rates are kind of insane to begin with - and I didn't even use a boost brew to activate double XP either, even though I have two in the bank (the free one, plus one I got in the first event mystery box, along with a prismatic small star and a medium phoenix lamp, which I got to use twice and which also unlocked the phoenix aura for me).

It's just too bad F2P cannot use the rivets for anything, or trade them, or hand them in for a reward. Right now, they just take up an inventory space. Bah.

While we were making the rivets, someone claimed to have seen a shark swim along the coast, from south to north, then swim out to sea. I never saw the shark. Neither did anyone else. Most likely, someone was just bored.

Those are the riveting details from tonight! :p

Congratulations on reaching your 75 dg goal, Aslon! I'm glad you mentioned the precious gem rocks of Al Kharid - I didn't know they were available in F2P. Sounds like a good place. I'll see if I can get a diamond ring done for Anja :)

I wish you all the best!

Thank you so much, Jokku! :)

Yes, those precious gem rocks are available to all who have DG 75 or higher. During an average run, I've been finding 3 to 6 diamonds each trip, with the rest being emeralds and rubies. On my worst run, I found only one diamond.

You should have no problem getting at least one diamond from the Al Kharid resource dungeon. I have a feeling Anja will love a diamond ring, especially so because it would be from you, Jokku. I wish you and your lady all the best! Cheers!

As for Ranged, we shall see. I did take a few melee combat training dummies and set them up in the Breaking the Storm event area. That 10% bonus is coming in handy - or you might even say hand-to-handy! :p

^ Good luck Threes! Happy DG! Don't lose your soul to it...again! ;)

Late last night, while working on stage 3 of the Breaking the Storm event, I reached Magic level 82! :) I also went over 10,000 boat materials, so I am more than halfway done with this event. I have only 4 rewards left to claim: at 12,000/14,000/17,000/20,000 - if I decide to go for the pet and the title. I probably will.

Tonight I did a lot of skilling at the Breaking The Storm event. I spent some time smithing (phase 2), but the majority of my time was used at phase 3 to get Magic level 83! :)

I earned just over 2,000 boat materials tonight, which was enough to claim the next reward, which was the big event mystery box. Inside I found two prismatic medium stars, a spirit ruby, a small prismatic lamp, and a medium bubbling lamp. I had hoped for another phoenix lamp, like last time. Also, another boost brew would've been nice. I'll just have to settle for using the two I have before the event ends. I am NOT going to waste 45 RuneCoins to buy a third boost brew! No chance.

Only three rewards left to earn - the Varrock flag resting emote(14,000), the pet(17,000), and the title(20,000). If I can keep up the pace, or close to it, I should be able to claim them all before the event is over.

^ Threes, I may have caught some of your laziness, as I did very little skilling on Sunday or Monday! :o I did do enough on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning to bring my total of boat materials handed in to 14,038. This unlocked event reward 8 of 10, the Varrock Flag Rest Animation. Only the pet and title yet to claim. To earn these, and to complete the event, I only need to hand in 5,962 more boat materials. I have 1006 on hand.

This evening, while doing more training at phase 3 of the event, I raised Magic to level 84! :)

My total level is now 1454, and I have over 60M XP! :D

Tonight I worked on Crafting, Magic, and Smithing at the Breaking The Storm event. While I did not gain any new levels, I did earn and turn in enough boat materials, a total of 17,006, to claim the 9th reward: the Mordaut Jr. pet. :) There's a nice little bit of dialog between you and the dragons which you unlock after you've claimed the pet.

I have to turn in 2994 more boat materials in order to complete this event, and to claim the 10th and final reward - the Stormbreaker title, at 20,000 boat materials. I have family events going on this Saturday and Sunday, including my own birthday on Saturday, so I may not have the time to finish the event before it ends. If I don't, no big deal. Titles don't mean much to me anyway. I use the "Of Gielinor" title in-game. The only other title that would've been cool to have is "Of Guthix". Ah well. I have 44 boat materials in my currency pouch right now - only 2950 more to find! Maybe I'll find them, maybe I won't. In any case, I've made some good level gains during this event! :)

Once I've posted this, I'll go back a couple of pages and update my list of pets to include Mordaut Jr. My total number of pets is now at 30! It's a good thing they all get along with one another! O_o

Well, I didn't have as much time as I would've liked to work on the Breaking The Storm event this weekend, and so I failed to complete the event before it ended. Out of the 2,994 boat materials I had left to turn in, I found only 1,231. Instead of turning them in, since I wouldn't have had enough anyway, I opted to convert 1,000 materials to mystery boxes. These gave me a total of 3 medium prismatic stars, a medium smoldering lamp, and 2 boxes of Dungeoneering tokens (1 small and 1 medium).

I wouldn't say the day was a total waste, however. Early Sunday morning I managed to get Crafting level 75! Early Sunday evening, shortly before the event ended, I reached magic level 85! During that final hour, I also used 5 melee combat training dummies to get my combat stats - Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength - closer to level 90! I need only 82,000 XP more to get there, except for Con. In that skill, I am 78,000 XP away from level 90!

I spent the final 10 minutes or so working on Smithing. Although I have over 400,000 XP still to get before I reach Smithing 96, I am roughly halfway there. Maybe I will reach that goal during DXP Weekend, coming up in just under three weeks. If I can find more protean bars in time for that, it should be possible!

After the event ended and the game reset, I completed a daily challenge in the RuneSpan. This got me to Runecrafting level 84!

So I couldn't claim the "Stormbreaker" title...but I did get three more skill levels, plus I made decent progress in five others. Not a bad trade-off. :)

This evening, I completed a daily challenge, which was to make 39 meat pizzas. Turning in this challenge granted me 54,765 XP, which was more than enough to get me to Cooking level 88! :)

Inside the challenge mystery bag, I found 77 mahogany planks and 758 coins.

Now I have to raise my Fishing level from 87 to 88 as well - perhaps during 1.2XP Weekend.

This evening, I kicked off 1.2XP Weekend by using pulse cores and 340 protean hides to get Crafting level 76! :)

I also did a little bit of Mining after maintaining the 10% boost from the pulse cores, followed by quite a bit of protean elder rune smithing. I still have a ways to go before leveling Mining, but gaining another Smithing level soon looks likely! :D

Well, that didn't take long at all! Late tonight, I did some more protean elder rune smithing. When combined with pulse cores and BXP, this grants amazing XP rates! I used 340 protean bars to reach Smithing level 96! :) I earned an additional 100k or so XP after gaining the level. I still have 500 protean bars I haven't used yet.

I also did some combat training. Soon, I should be gaining a level in Attack, Constitution, Defence, and Strength. This should also raise my Combat Level.

As I traditionally do when I am close to gaining a combat level, on Sunday night and early Monday morning I went around to visit some of my best enemies, allowing them to contribute towards my goal.

I used the Skull Sceptre to teleport directly to the shades on level 4 of the SoS. After fighting those for a bit, I teleported to Varrock and fought some dark wizards. Then I entered the Varrock sewers to battle some deadly reds. This got my melee combat stats very close to the next level. I needed about 88 XP to level Attack, Defence, and Strength. However, I needed nearly 1000 XP more than that to level Constitution. So I teleported from the sewers to Al Kharid, where I grabbed my bow from the bank, then ran to the mine to range some scorpions. After using Ranged to kill about 90 scorpions, my Constitution was brought up to match my Attack, Defence, and Strength. Once this was done, I switched back to using my longswords and put my melee armor back on. I was ready for the final step.

Using melee to kill a few more scorps before I decided to stop for sleep, I left with ATT only 11 XP away, DEF and STR at 13 XP away, and CON at 15 XP away. I returned early Monday evening to finish what I had started.

I one-hit killed the first scorpion. This was just enough to get me Attack level 90 and Combat Level 112! :) DEF and STR were 3 XP from the next level, while CON was 5 XP away. I slew another scorp. This got me Constitution, Defence, and Strength level 90, as well as Combat Level 113! :D After killing a few more scorps for fun, I opted to use the six medium phoenix lamps I had collected over the past week. I used one each on ATT/CON/DEF/STR and two on Ranged, which is now slightly over 9k XP from the next level. None of the six lamps were saved after a single use. O_o

My Total Level is now 1470. My RuneScore is now 2005.

^Thank you Threes! Glad you enjoyed it.

Tonight, I had a balloon drop all to myself near the Al Kharid lodestone. Of the 10 balloons I popped, 8 of them had summery food in them. One cf them contained a medium prismatic star, which I used on Smithing, since that's where all my BXP goes. One balloon contained a small prismatic lamp, which I used to get Ranged level 83! :)

Then I completed a daily challenge to make 336 yew shieldbows. With the +25% boost to Fletching XP currently active, making and stringing these bows got me quite close to gaining a level - when I turned in the completed challenge, I was only 5,908 XP away.

My reward was 45,262 XP, way more than I needed to reach Fletching level 73! :) Once again, Fletching is tied with Firemaking and Woodcutting as my lowest skills. I have two other skills in the 70s...Crafting and Prayer, both at level 76. Of my remaining 12 F2P skills, 6 are in the 80s, and the other 6 are in the 90s.

The challenge mystery bag contained 53 marigolds and 1,868 coins.

This afternoon, while obtaining precious gems in the Al Kharid resource dungeon, I reached Mining level 92! :)

Doing this completed the achievement Mining 92 (Halfway There), which added 5 points to my RuneScore, which is now at 2010.

I've almost completed all the achievements I am able to, aside from some based on skill milestones and anything to do with group dungeoneering. I haven't earned a cat-training medal from Gertrude though. My kitten is not good at catching rats. Not at all! :p

Last night - or was that tonight - I used a shining prismatic medium lamp I had left over from the previous promotion to gain some Fletching XP. This lamp doubled the usual XP granted. I got just over 20k XP from that lamp, which was more than 14k more than I needed to reach Fletching level 74! :) One more level until I can make rune arrows!

I used the other shining prismatic medium lamp I had in my pack to gain over 11k Prayer XP. No doubling bonus to XP this time, and no level gained. My Total Level is now at 1476.

I also spoke with Hans last night - or was that tonight - and finally claimed from him the 15 year Veteran Cape! :D The emote is pretty cool, and the bottom of the cape itself appears to be on fire! O_o

Thank you everyone! Congrats on your own achievements!

Late last night, I completed a daily challenge to make 336 yew shortbows. Doing this got me to 32,586 XP away from gaining the next level. Turning in the shortbows to redeem the challenge earned me 45,262 XP, which got me to Fletching level 75! :)

The challenge mystery bag contained 179 raw rocktails and 1,090 coins. I later sold the rocktails at The Grand Exchange for 343,501 coins.

As I could now fletch rune arrows, I celebrated the level gain by making 3,750 of them, bringing the total of rune arrows I have in the bank to 4,000. This got me to 66,470 XP away from the next Fletching level!

All this Fletching XP put me over the 65M mark in Total XP. My Total Level is now 1477.

Tonight I received and redeemed another Fletching daily challenge. This time, the task was to make 336 yew shieldbows. I already had 336 unstrung shieldbows and 210 bowstrings stashed in my bank, so I only had to craft an additional 126 bowstrings, then string the bows. After I had strung 275 yew shieldbows, I reached Fletching level 76! :) Once I had strung all 336 of them, I was 134,505 XP away from reaching the next level.

Turning in this challenge awarded me 45,262 XP in Fletching. I am now just 89,242 XP away from the next level. I reckon another Fletching challenge, plus making some more rune arrows, should do the job.

The challenge mystery bag contained 421 mahogany planks and 581 coins. I sold the planks at The Grand Exchange for 356,587 coins.

My Total Level is now 1478.

Last night, I received another daily challenge to fletch 336 yew shieldbows. Since completing this challenge the last time, I had made 3,000 rune arrows.

After completing this challenge tonight, I was a mere 1,342 XP away from the next level gain. Turning in this challenge awarded me the usual 45,262 XP, getting me to Fletching level 77! :) I am 109,699 XP away from the next level.

The challenge mystery bag contained 478 mahogany planks and 200 coins. I sold the planks on the G.E. for 370,450 coins.

I also received 86 Charity Tokens.

The Mental Health Awareness event has just ended.

As expected, I did not grind my way to 10,000 Charity Tokens over the six days of the event. I have turned in 5,034 tokens, so I received the first of the two Big Event Boxes, plus the Brain Plushie. I still have 198 tokens in my currency pouch, which is not enough to convert to event boxes. I won't get anything for handing in these tokens, so I might as well leave them in the pouch until they are converted to coins.

I didn't gain any levels by rubbing the 18 small XP lamps I got by answering the three daily questions, but I made decent progress in Melee, Magic, Prayer, and Ranged.

I would've played more, but I was looking out for my mental health. :p

Tonight, after using a small and a medium hydra lamp on my Crafting and Prayer, I reached Prayer level 78! :) My Total Level is now 1480.

Late tonight, I also completed a Summoning challenge, to create 10 dreadfowl pouches. I've done this many times before. This time, however, I managed to complete this challenge without killing a single chicken!

After collecting the required 10 gold charms, 10 pouches, and 80 spirit shards, I went into the Burthorpe troll cave. There I collected 5 raw chickens as drops, along with 310 air runes, 50 potato seeds, 10 onion seeds, 9 grimy guam, plus 2 additional gold charms. I also buried a lot of bones. With my pack full, I left to deposit the runes, seeds, guam, and the 2 extra charms in the bank, then I walked south. When I reached the chicken farm, I saw there was a CL 5 player there training on the chickens. A moment later, raw chickens began to appear. I went in, collected the other 5 I needed, then continued south. I created the 10 pouches, then returned to Burthorpe for my reward.

The challenge mystery bag contained 11 mahogany planks and 800 coins. I'll sell the planks at the G.E. the next time I'm there.

Tuesday evening, I decided to check off a few more Daemonheim achievements by walking there through The Wilderness, which was one of the tasks I completed, along with crafting law runes while in a dungeon and wearing a full set of tier 1 armor. That last one I did after killing a very easy boss to defeat on Floor 11. While Dungeoneering, I wore argonite plate, legs, and boots while dual-wielding a pair of argonite longswords. I made a zeph helm and gauntlets. No level gain, however, after leaving the dungeon, I decided to enter another one, just to see what the starting items were. I saw the argonite maul that had eluded me for quite some time, so I grabbed it and added the maul to my bind pool! I now have a full set of argonite armor, plus an argonite 2-h sword, main and off-hand longswords, spear, and maul all available as bound items.

Of course, going Dungeoneering threw off my nice equal Firemaking and Woodcutting stats, so I took advantage of the chaos and completed a Woodcutting challenge late last night, by cutting 55 yew logs. Early this morning, I completed a Firemaking challenge, to burn 320 yew logs. I only had 15 more to burn, when I reached Firemaking level 74! :) Redeeming the challenge earned me another 36,000 or so XP. Doing this challenge used up a large portion of the yew logs I had stashed in the bank for Fletching challenges. Therefore, it's a good thing I have a lot of Woodcutting I need to work on now! O_o

On Wednesday evening, after cutting several hundred yew logs, I reached Woodcutting level 74! :) Once more, my Firemaking and Woodcutting levels are equal, and these two skills are still tied for my two-lowest F2P skills. Crafting, Fletching, and Prayer are also in the 70s. All my other F2P skills are at level 80 or higher.

My Total Level is now 1482.

R.I.P. RS Halloween event! :(

^ Yeah, but before I can do that, I'll need to get all my skills to 80+ first. I have five skills still currently in the 70s. One of them is Fletching.

A few days ago, I completed and redeemed another Fletching challenge to make 336 yew shieldbows. I made these at The Grand Exchange. By deploying 5 portable fletchers there, I earned some additional XP while making the bows. After I turned in the bows to receive my XP reward for this challenge, I was 6,363 XP away from gaining the next level.

This morning, after redeeming a Smithing challenge to make a piece of rune equipment, I took 30 protean logs from my bank, leaving me with 390 still in the bank. Fletching these 30 protean logs earned me 7,500 XP, which enabled me to reach Fletching level 78! :)

Once I gain two more levels in Fletching and in Prayer, I'll be left with only three skills still in the 70s.

I'm not sure how far I'll get before Jagex foolishly closes down their Java client. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get NTX to even work, or if I'll want to play while being forced to use it. From what I've read by many who have tried it, NXT is horribly slow and areas from before 2017 look worse in NXT than they ever did in Java. I understand the lighting in particular looks ridiculous. As far as draw distance goes, I have no interest in seeing Taverley from Lumbridge. I'd much rather have a game that runs without frequent freezing and crashes.

Jagex themselves admit NXT still has problems, yet they still intend to ram it down all our throats. If you believe the propaganda that claims 96% of all players use and love NXT, I have a bridge in Ashdale to sell you.
