Title: A Hero's Apprentice
Author: Dark Fury
Date: August 23rd, 2014

This is a short 'Choose Your Fate' story by Dark Fury. The object of the story is for players to choose the fates of the characters. They do this by selecting the names of said characters, locations, professions, and character actions and their decisions.

The first person to post their selection, will be given credit at the end of the story as their choice will be used throughout the story. In order to Choose Your Fate, make a post which reads for example: 'Part 1-Settlement Name' or words to this effect. Your choice will be taken into account and then either accepted or rejected. Only one choice per player, please!

Doing so will ultimately affect the outcome of the story. And so it begins...
You peer into a Chapel of Zamorak, which appears to be abandoned. Before you can close the doors again, a Revenant Chaos-Bringer flies at you and slays you instantly with a bolt of Shadow Lightning. Oh dear! You are dead!

The year was 180 of the Fifth Age. Our still-young hero Storm was age 30. His combat level was roughly 70. He was ready for yet another amazing adventure!

Choose Your Fate Part 1-Ashdale

1: Ashdale
2: Tutorial Island
3: Another settlement-Note: If choosing this, the name and location of your chosen settlement must be in a logical place not occupied in the Fifth Age.

One evening, he wandered into a settlement. This name of the settlement was Ashlade. Seeing as how the Sun was now setting, Storm decided to spend the night here in the settlement. And so he wandered into Ashdale. Glancing around, he saw a few people still outside, but as it was getting late, mostly everybody had already turned in for the night for supper.

"Hmm...Seems rather quiet around here." He said to himself while wandering past a couple buildings. "Then again, I'm not surprised. It's almost dark outside."

As he wandered past a makeshift location for training combat, he heard a girl complaining and grunting in effort. Curious, he walked around the corner and saw her...A young teenage girl with tawny brownish or blonde hair training her archery skills.

"Oh come on!" she exclaimed while shooting an arrow at a training dummy. "Father always told me archery wasn't hard! But as usual, he was lying."

Storm could see this girl was clearly struggling to hit a vital spot on the training dummy. Her bow and quiver of arrows though sturdy and plentiful were not hitting their mark.

"Hey! Maybe I can help." Storm called as he walked over to her.

The girl gasped and spun around to face him.

"Aah! You! Were you staring at my back all this time?" The flustered girl asked him.

Chuckling, Storm shook his head. "No, I only just got here. In fact, when I heard you complaining about your archery skills, I figured I might be able to help. How about it? Can I h

The girl glances him up and down, raising a brow. "You don't seem familiar...Do you even know how to use a bow and arrows?"

Storm grins, nodding. "Of course I know how to use a bow and arrows!"

Smirking, the girl points towards a rack of regular shortbows and bronze arrows. "Then grab one of those bows and some arrows and show your skills to me!"

Surprisingly, Storm instead grabbed a maple shortbow and his quiver full of steel arrows from his backpack. The girl stared at him, clearly surprised. "Whoa! How did you get such a nice bow and a sturdy set of arrows?"

Storm smirked back at her as he notched one of the arrows into his bow steadily. "A real adventurer never travels the world unprepared." He told her with confidence.

Choose Your Fate Part 2-In between the eyes

1: The right eye
2: The left eye
3: In between the eyes

And with one flick of his fingers, he fired the arrow and it struck the training dummy in between the eye. The girl gasped in awe at Storm's archery skills.

"Whoa! You nailed the dummy right in (part of body)!" she exclaimed, amazed.

"What can I say? I've had a lot of practice." he replied casually to her. "Why don't you try and hit the dummy in the same place as I did?"

The girl gulps nervously. "But-But...How? You did a head-shot! I couldn't even manage a shot in the heart let alone a shot in the head!"

Storm approached the girl and coached her into getting into the proper position with her bow armed with an arrow and ready to fire at the dummy.

"Remember these principles when using a ranged weapon...Stay calm and stay focused. No disttractions and no ****-eating."

The girl blushed when Storm said what he said. "Did you just--"

Laughing it off, Storm gestures to the target. "Just give it your best shot."

And so the girl took his advice to heart and fired. Surprisingly enough

"By the gods! I did it! I really did it!" she exclaimed over and over.

Storm offered her a high five to which she gratefully accepted. "Awesome shot!" he told her. "Now you see? Any weapon can be effective when used properly."

The girl blushed while glancing down, embarressed. "It was just a lucky shot." she retorted.

"Maybe luck was a factor, maybe not. By the way, I didn't catch your name..." Storm told her.

Choose Your Fate Part 3-Meg

1: Meg
2: Another name-Note: If choosing another name, the name has to be an original name fit for a teenage human girl currently residing on Gielinor.

"Oh...I'm so sorry. I'm only a teenager and I don't have the same kind of manners as Mother yet. But anyway, my name is Meg. I'm 15 years old and I want to be an Archery Master!"

Storm and Meg shook hands with each other.

Storm chuckled as they shook hands. "You would actually be a Master Archer. And it's good to meet you. I'm Storm. I'm an adventurer who has a penchant for combat."

"Are you just passing througgh? Or are you here to stay?" Meg asked him.

"I'm here to stay for the night." Storm told her.

The girl glances at Storm excited. "Would you like to stay with me and Mother? We're waiting for Father to return home from his hunting trip. I'm sure she won't mind."

Storm takes one last look at the setting Sun and then shrugs. "Yeah sure. Your home is as good of a place to stay here as any I suppose."

Meg smiled almost proudly. "Good! Then it's all settled. Come with me and let's meet Mother!"

Choose Your Fate Part 4-Decide what profession the mother of the girl should have...

1: Butcher
2: Tanner
3: Another profession-Note: If selecting another profession, it must be a profession which fits the theme of RuneScape like a pair of leather gloves.

And so (name) led Storm to her house where he met her mother-A (name of profession) and a fairly high skilled one too! (name) asked her mother if Storm could spend the night with them.

"I'm not sure...Just who is he anyway? A random stranger?" the mother asked.

"No! He's an amazing adventurer, Mother! And a skilled archer as well!"

(name) told her mother about how Storm helped her improve her archery skills. As a reward for this, (name's) mother allowed Storm to stay the night at their house.
