This gets brought up at almost every event, but I'll bring it up again. Is there no way to hide other players followers? During DXP weekend, it is often times very hard to find a portable skilling plot as they are covered up by the ever-present drakes. I realize that certain pets can bring extra xp to the table, but could there be a way to "hide other pets", or at least scale them down to the point that they're no longer a hindrance? Lag is bad enough with player animations... the non-skilling pets are just a drain on resources.

Thank you.

I support this.

On a related note, I believe all followers should only be heard by the player they are following, and not every other person nearby. Some of them have highly annoying sounds (Spirit Cobra is such an example, I believe) and force players to turn off the sound effects which are otherwise usually quite useful.

No support, pets are a part of the personality of the person who owns them, so they should be visible as well, especially when some have paid real money for pets with the knowledge that everyone sees them.

And on top of that, it's just a slippery slope to other toggles; some are gonna want a toggle to hide people's helmets to see their faces, others to hide other people completely because they hate other people etc. Before long, you're gonna have a playerbase that can't tolerate different people and who simply resort to ignoring them completely, as well as a worse mess of options menus, where you have to browse through loads and loads of options just to find the one toggle you're looking for. We need less toggles, not more.

(Besides, other people having pets out serves as free advertisement for Jagex to get other people to buy them as well, so it's unlikely they're gonna change that.)

If you're going to leech from someone else's portables, that's the price you pay; they get to decide where and when the portable is placed. You can always buy your own portables and avoid pets if you don't like them.

Just another thread proving more people hate drakes being screen clutter and lag causing.

Blackwing, how many more threads have to be made about this topic for you to realize the issue is far bigger than your money's worth.

Obviously I support again. The better the customization in the game for personalization, the better.

Toggles won't ruin your gameplay, and me not seeing your drake doesnt affect you or the reason you purchased the pet. Unless you bought it for me specifically, and not that you actually wanted the pet. In which case, yes,you wasted your money on a gift for me that I never asked for or ever wanted. Take your trash back.

There's been many dozens of threads on this topic ending in a large general support in all of them.

The same big ego players keep posting non support saying their money matters more than the people affected.

Tbh the only part I'm confused about at this point is why Jagex still hasn't done anything. According to Blackwing here, they could keep this a profitable game without any form of mtx, so it's not like they need Legendary Pet profits, which are also a part of mtx, which Blackwing hates. It's all extra to them. And not even much in comparison.

This is a Quality of Life toggle that negatively affects nobody. Get over yourselves and support it.

It's not so much about feeding one's ego than it is about expecting to receive in return what one paid money for. Pets can be avoided, and they don't hinder your gameplay even if you decide to stay around them.

I don't know if you just didn't understand what I meant, or if you don't know that facial hair and hair on your head can be customized.

Ignoring a player doesn't hide the player, so if you let it apply to their followers, nothing would happen.

If you had your own portables, it'd as simple as going elsewhere and placing your own portable there. If you don't have your own portables, you can buy some. Either way, you most definitely *can* avoid them, you just don't *want* to.

Yes, they absolutely can hinder a person's gameplay. Not everybody runs NXT, and not everybody has a high end computer. Many players certainly can lag at any given time, and large pets like the drake, or the clan avatar, can contribute to it.

You paid for the pet, but you didn't pay me to look at it. Don't force me or demand it from me unless you plan on buying my attention. Like I said earlier, you bought the pet for your own use, if you didnt buy the pet for its abilities and you only bought it for me, then take your trash back. Your gift is not wanted.

Who are you to say what would happen? Nothing would happen to you, but we could benefit from it.

And actually, we just got a solution from this quote.

Ignore option now also applies to that users pets as well as chat. Obviously summoning excluded for combat purposes.
