I have noticed that there are over 140+ servers in RS3, but most of them seem to only have 50ish players at times.
I can understand why some people would enjoy this, because it's almost like a private server where you can train without competition. However, it seems that the RS3 player base isn't increasing and when you have few players spread across a large amount of worlds it becomes more of a solo game rather than an MMORPG.

The social aspect... Talking with other players and meeting new people to interact with has become less likely when you venture from the common areas like the grand exchange.
It's a pretty large map and it's mostly empty of other players when you go out doing slayer or on a quest of some sort.
If we subtracted the amount of worlds even buy a dozen or so it would condense the players more and maybe there would seemingly be more people to enjoy the game with.

Thoughts?

I personally think they should reduce them number of servers, but not until after the mobile release. As I assume the same servers will be utilised?

Moved over to a better suited section.

Jagex a few years back did a poll and asked the RS3 Community if they wanted less worlds. The Community voted to stay the same.

So right now it does look like less people but when RS3 Mobile is released you and others with luck will see the Worlds filling up just like they did when Old School Mobile came out.

Right now I would not worry too much about lack of people on Worlds. I'm sure it will pick up soon.

Nahh, your eyes are okay but I would suggest another cup of tea ... and an apple a day. :D
After all we should mix & mingle, get together in a more dense area talking with each other.

@Jeremy Cheng

Sadly I felt the need to remove your comments due to the fact it's not wise.

The Community see that and this thread could kick off big time.

Please think again about the opening post of this thread for a better suggestion that won't upset most of the Community.

no thank you

theres already issues with fighting for spots for training. to extent abyssal demons had to have increased spawns and extra area. one example

other factor involved is time based D&Ds such as runesphere the ones in deepsea fishing. (any that world hopping is meta, where infact people socialise over friends chats to help with) reducing worlds will reduce spawns. possibly making it not convenient to even world hop killing these friends chats. the opposite of what it is you want to propose. unless they icnrease spawns for all these activities (not miss one)

from my experience rs is still heavily social with friends chats and clans etc. just because your avatars arent next to each other speaking doesnt mean its not a social game anymore

but lets look at places that are heavily populated. world 84 combat academy.... id rather there be less of these heavily populated areas. if you dont know what i mean. go to world 84 combat acadamy and just skill and chat and socialise there for a bit. youll see what i mean

also try and take note of all the players there and how many people are actually socialising. just because they are together doesnt mean they all want to or are socialising.

decreasing worlds will just cause more issues than it solves
