If you actually want to make a dent in that trolling, ban them and ignore them. Disruptive behavior is against the rules, is it not? No need to devalue the drakes for those who don't troll with them, nor to make a bigger mess of the game's settings, just focus on those individuals. :P

Well, it'd be nice if some action would be taken, but seeing how during my few days of portable skilling, same scammer logged daily there with her normal "advertisements", I kind of find it hard to believe that they'd do something against minor offenders.

Most of the time people don't even seem to have their Drakes, nor any smaller pets out, but somehow it's necessary to summon them just there. With some people intentionally getting their Drakes stuck in such position that it'd block bank chest as much as possible.

Ehm, what's this about a scammer now? I don't know anything about that, but if Jagex isn't enforcing the rules, i.e. not punishing people for disruptive behavior, then it's a problem that needs fixing, right? I mean, why punish even those who haven't done anything wrong, when you can just punish those who have wronged? :P

Regarding that second paragraph, how have you observed that there are people who only summon their drakes at portables? Seeing them intentionally place the drake in a certain way is easy enough to spot, but unless you hang out with the person or stalk them, how would you know what they do elsewhere/if they don't use the drake elsewhere?

Blackwing, you know you choosing to ignore everything I say makes me want to insult you more. Right? Calling you ignorant because you utterly refuse to even respond to me. Because for some reason I'm not worth your time?

How about you grow up and stop being a snobby brat and I will stop treating you like one. Deal? Man up and talk to the people who talk to you.

Again, stop blaming us for having the issues. Other people use the Drakes and other pets. And pets add unnecessary clutter to our screens without adding any benefit to us. Only the pet owner gets pet benefits.

Many people have supported the option to hide pets from view for their own reasons, and you refuse to accept their reasons, acting like your 'it's your fault for being there' is a better, more legitimate issue.

I say lag causing and visually obstructing, is far more of an issue than us being at a portable. I also say that whether we world hopped or not, the issue is always going to be present. Playing hide and seek is not a fix.

Frankly speaking my thoughts on this come in three fronts -

The first of them being that it can't be held to another player if you, as a player, hold terribly weak hardware or a bad enough connection that lag is an issue. That's not our fault, improve your circumstances - and if you can't improve your circumstances, it still is not our problem. Nobody gets to go and try to get people punished because someone else has hardware good enough that they can run the game at max settings, drakes everywhere, and not break a sweat while you can't. Period. Harsh, but true. Your lag is not my concern.

The second is that the moment Jagex adds an option to toggle, I want a refund. I bought the drake, as well as almost every item in the solomons store, to be fashionable and to show off. That's pointless when I can't know for sure people are watching - if their not forced to watch, they won't watch, which defeats the purpose of the purchase and intent on purchase. It's a real money pet which people payed money for. To alter that pet in any way would be change the item purchased after purchase, which in many territories and countries, including the US where I reside, is flatly illegal and I, and everyone else, would be entitled (and wanting to get in my case) full refunds, regardless of how much time has passed since purchase.

The third being that again, frankly, people shouldn't complain. See Point #1 and the following - Between the hard fact that you can't hold another player with better hardware and connection liable for your lesser hardware purchasing and retention decisions, and the fact that It's an item I bought, I have the lawful right to use it wheresoever I please that pets are available, with no player being able to tell me otherwise, and I'm not breaking the runescape rules because my lawfully purchased, lawfully in use pet is causing you lag, which again, cannot be another player and by extension my ow concern.

Essentially, I bought it, I have a lawful right to use it, I'm going to use it. You have no lawful recourse because me using it is implied in purchase and I have the right to use it, and as but a fellow player I cannot be held liable for another players machine being too weak to handle me using my lawful purchase.

Is it the most friendly response? No. But it's a lawful, strictly inoffensive, and logical response. And it's what I tell everyone when they tell try to order me to put away my drake. I'd posit it's not an unfriendly one either - I hold no-one any ill-will at all. I simply do as I wish without breaking the rules and expect that to be respected, just as I respect others for doing the same.

I'm simply not breaking any rules, and won't be apologetic about using something I have every right to so use. Any time I choose, any place I choose. End of story.

A VERY strong No support.

You don't get to ask for a refund on the drake. You still get every service they've ever offered with it. And frankly because you disagree that people lag because of it, you expect your money back when they offer a user-only-friendly solution that does not affect you. you bought the drake to use, so use it as you will. Don't expect me to ever care, because your drake was not bought for me and I don't gain anything from you using it. Frankly you are now just an annoyance to me.

Also you act like its difficult to implement, as if they haven't already done 18 years of settings updates.

You blame us for not having current max settings hardware, but I don't see you providing list of affordable options that people can use. I see you bragging that other people are the ones who set the bar for our gameplay. I don't see you offering a solution for any supporter here.

All you say is you paid for a pet and want to use it, which this does not stop. So quit being an entitled asshole who has to force people to look at it despite it causing lag and blocking visuals in our game.

Think about this. If enough people would use the toggle to make your pet invisible to everybody. That speaks for the actual support behind hiding pets. That's enough to make it happen.

People will still see your pet because this is only a single user option. It's not global or passive. Chances are only people who dislike pets or lag because of pets will hide them. Most will still see, so you cant complain about nobody seeing your pet. Stop acting like every person will use it while saying it's a bad idea because of you and your rights. Lmfao

Anybody who has issues caused by large obstructions in their game has the right to complain and offer solutions. You are complaining that you can't brag to people who don't appreciate your bragging. And that just makes you a selfish jerk while we're helping those less fortunate.

Couldn't agree more.

If ppl want to complain about something ppl have every right to use, let them.

As using pets doesn't break any rules like said, it proves even more that more than likely nothing will happen.

1. With above-current-average HW and the fact that I am an ISP, this is probably not the case.

2. On the other side, there are players, I would say a majority of players, who are paying to Jagex as well. I personally pay with bonds, which does not provide them less money as if I paid directly (as they still enter the game via other players, which buy them for real money). Plus I consume much more bonds since I use them to buy xp during promotions (lamps, stars, proteans, etc).

Just in case you haven't known, there is this in Terms & Conditions:

"All intellectual property or other rights in any game character, account, content, virtual currency and virtual items in the Jagex Products are and will remain the property of Jagex and/or its licensors. You are only granted limited permission (which can be revoked at anytime) to use such content or Jagex Product, subject to and in accordance with these terms and conditions.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY HEREIN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OWNERSHIP, TITLE OR OTHER PROPERTY INTEREST IN ANY JAGEX PRODUCT OR ACCOUNT, AND YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT ALL RIGHTS IN AND TO AN ACCOUNT ARE AND SHALL FOREVER BE OWNED BY AND INURE TO THE BENEFIT OF JAGEX."

"Your" neither "mine" neither "anyone's else" accounts, items, and anything else regarding the game are propery of Jagex, which therefore can make changes as they like to.

The only valid law to do so is supply and demand.

3. To remind of, you do not own the cosmetic drake. It is not your property.

Clan Avatar and Achievement banner weren't against the rules either, but were changed after complaints about them being disruptive. Same deal here. And it's everybody's right to complain about things they find disruptive in hopes of making said disruptions less disruptive.

Quit complaining about how you feel entitled to showing your money purchase off to everybody, that wasn't in the description for the Drake when you bought it.
