The shift towards 120 all skills is inevitable. It will come, but slowly.

99s on RS3 have lost their touch. 120s have taken their place. This is because of how fast XP has become. I'm in the process of maxing an alt and it's A LOT faster and easier than when I did it on this account. This is even without taking DXP weekends and TH into account. It's quite crazy really. Back when I got Max cape, 99s felt a little bit more accomplishing. Now they don't to me. 120s do though as despite all the XP boosts, they still take time to get and this game is all about time spent. If something takes longer, it feels more accomplishing. If it's quick to unlock, it doesn't feel as satisfying. That's how this game works.

You're not going to wake up one day and see all skills at a new max of 120. They'll do it slowly as they've been doing (Dungeoneering, Invention and then Slayer). It is coming and it's not going to stop because you say so. If the demand for it is enough, it will happen regardless of what those against it say.

It's just one of those things you may have to accept as a very real possibility.

Frankly, I gotta disagree. I have very few 99's on any of my accounts because, a lot of them are just boring to do. it doesn't matter if they're fast or slow if its just a mindless grind to 99. Even then, there's nothing "difficult" or "challenging" about spending 200+ hours clicking on trees to grind 99 woodcutting. or clicking on rocks to get mining. that's not a challenge. that's not difficult. and it's certainly not accomplishing, nor has it ever been.

it's mindless. repetitive. and boring. whether it be level 99 or 120 doesn't really matter. it doesn't really make them more difficult. it just means its more of a time investment. Doing something 500 times isn't any more difficult then doing that same thing 50,000 times.
