At Runefest they pretty much said for the new storyline continuations, they're pulling another The World Wakes and resetting the quest line so everything takes place in the past...again. Please no. The game is already confusing as shit for new players to understand the lore and how 90% of the quests in the game are irrelevant for the modern events, and now you want to add another layer on top of that? Seriously one of the worst ideas I've heard so far out of Jagex this year, sorry.

What do you guys think?

They need to. And I strongly disagree with you.

You cannot at all continue to make quests require Grandmaster quests. Because then lower levels cannot enjoy the main storyline.

You cannot require 15 Grandmasters for a Grandmaster. What they did was one of the best ideas ever. And I strongly support them now.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.

Depends on how they phrased it.

If they do another The World Wakes where a quest that directly follows up on previous quests does not require those quests, that is obviously bad. If they start completely new storylines with low-levelled requirements that's obviously fine.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. Minigames & ninja fixes & achievement ideas!

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

If it's the latter, and they actually start something new that's separate from the existing quests (doubt it), then there's still the issue that older questlines need completion still, so why would they start another one before finishing older ones?

If it's the former, which I'm guessing it is, then it goes to show again how Jagex is more focused on artificially inflating player participation numbers on content than what they would be, if Jagex cared about the game integrity.

Because honestly, if there's a real issue(s) with the current quests that scares away players from doing them, those should be looked into fixing, but if it's just about "oh I'm too lazy to do this and this" player mentality, that kind of mentality shouldn't be encouraged by giving into it just like that. Build-up makes the juicy bits that much more interesting and satisfying.

Nope they pretty much said the 'new 'Dragonkin storyline that directly follows the events of Sliske's Endgame won't require Sliske's Endgame.
