Below is a quote of a post by ImRubic (Reddit user who normally handles the TL;DW after-stream information threads):

Runescape Remastered
Game Focus
- Takes place at the end of the 6th Age.
- Open more expansive world with the removal of the blocky grid-system/0.6 second tick system.
- Added height features and a more 3D world than RS3 (think of Skyrim).
- Allows for Offline skill training.
To be Determined
An ability to shapeshift into a variety of NPCs/content.
- Community oriented markets, cities, and other mechanics.
- World roaming bosses for PvM.
- Unique PvP interactions across the game world.
This is all that I remember being mentioned, but I may have left something out.

EDIT: This information was provided in a survey only given to several people. I wasn't provided it but I was able to get my hands on it. I can provide a link to the now ended survey but you can't see anything.

that sounds quite bad

Because of this, I *strongly* believe Jagex won't launch a new RuneScape without a large majority, or all, of players progress and bank intact.

Well, from what Jagex had itself said in the survey, they are indeed learning from the EoC and OSRS debacle by doing the exact opposite this time. Instead of changing RS3 to New Runescape, which some players may not like, and then later bringing back RS3 to which players could move, but only by losing all their progress...

everyone's progress will stay intact while continuing to play RS3, but if you want to play the New RuneScape, then you have to start over.

It's like the old joke from Russia: Under Capitalism, there is the exploitation of man by man. Under Communism, it is exactly the opposite.

I think that Jagex has learned the wrong thing from the EoC debacle. Yes, players get upset at losing progress. However, while a big minority of players may still want to play the same old game they're used to, an even bigger group of players, the majority, likely will want to move to the latest and greatest.

So even more players are going to be upset this time, I fear.

Now, that's not necessarily true. If playing New RuneScape does not mean doing slightly modified versions of all the same quests over again, then starting over from the beginning means starting a new game, not doing stuff over again. There are many other factors and details that may change the picture.

They didn't learn anything.
