I didnt even know what zeah was, mixing universes is a bad idea since people that dont touch the opposite game will be in the dark. Plus I'd rather not have 1 game start to affect the other. They could honestly do something with fairy rings or the world gate if they want a new area instead of copy pasting.

Think fossil island was a thing around for a while with the varrock museum storytelling, so I'm fine with that one coming in. The other one should remain in its own alternate universe.

Other than being a universe where the gods did not return, the additions to in-game history in either version of the game never seem to contradict the other (or at least do not do so excessively). So it is very possible that Zeah could exist in RS3.

Acknowledging that, I fail to see how it's addition would leave players any more in the dark than players in OSRS were upon the continent's initial addition to the game. And given the main difference in the games' lore (the gods returning or not), RS3 can do Zeah with a substantially different focus for the area's story and activities (same backdrop, different story/actors).

Or they could play it very similar to how OSRS did it and just tell the story again, leaving nobody in the dark. I mean, they're clearly capable of introducing players to the area since they did so previously.

Well I'd presume using the same area and name would be some type of selling point for people. I just think there's plenty of giant area exploration concepts in this game with the arc, world gate, fairy rings that they could work with instead of having to recycle content that was already done.

Just think they're closing a lil gap on the unique content you could do on either game. Feel it takes away a bit from that fresh experience thing. Not sure if what was popular for there would be as popular for here, just hope they wouldn't be adding it just cause it was popular there could backfire.

Either way they seem set on some type of new area concept since a few were listed on the poll.

Zeah I can see why it is not wanted, but it isn't going to be the same as Old School And it should be considered canon in the Lore. So I think they should bring it out.

The Fossil Island has always been canon and is where a large amount of the Dragonkin are staying, so we will have to go there eventually.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.

I think we need Fossil Island, it's just been a dead piece of story content for SO many years. It needs to be finished.

Agreed.

That is in my opinion not a good reason to develop this update. As has been said during the livestream yesterday, there is a difference between making updates to finish content and making updates for the content. Using purely the above reasoning, you might risk releasing content that is not enjoyable, simply because the aim was finishing instead of making something engaging.
That being said, there are (were) a lot of fun ideas in regards to what can be introduced with fossil island. IF there is enough enthusiasm from both the players and the developers, I am in favour of making this update.
But for me, despite it still being built in the barge, the ship has already sailed: much of the hype for fossil island has died down for me, while other updates now take precedence over it (fossil island really is a large development sink, mind you). It has been on the backlog for too long.
