Jagex is a greedy company and turned the game to shit. They're just milking the value of the game now by having so many MXT promotions, turned hypocritical by allowing another variant of RWT with bonds, ignored the pleads of the playerbase by introducing fucking EOC, killed PVP with all these shitty t90+ weapons that can almost one shot someone, and now they're increasing the price of everything. It turned more into pay to play a couple years back and now they're leeching off their committed members by always increasing the price of bonds.

They'll go up in scale in relation to the price increase of USD. I'm too lazy to do calculations but I'm just assuming around 18m.

I actually agree with Pis2ols here.

I can certainly afford to pay for bonds regardless of this [unnecessary] inflation, but it is getting to a point where business ethics are out the window and it's almost not worth caving. It's 2018, so paying real money for membership is silly at this point when an individual player can easily make 30m+/hour. Like I said, it is the principle, not the action.

I have only met one other game developer that adds as many MTX into the game as Jagex (I am talking about their marketing strategy team now based in China), in regards to both old and new promotions. It took 2 years for that game to fade away. To answer your question, no, I do not see bonds skyrocketing to absurd amounts. Demand will remain the same regardless of the th trash that is thrown into the game.

guess you don't play a lot of other games.

Committed members are the very reason for price hikes. Bonds rise in relation to membership prices. It's quite understandable that they need to raise them when for a lot of us we are still locked into old prices. I'm still at 5$ a month.

The only solution for never rising membership or rarely rising would be to remove grandfathered membership prices and settle on an average. That being said then you would bitch about how they are screwing over the old folks. What they're doing is actually siding with veterans for once.

sure you may still be $5 a month, but you have VIP badge much like me, and thus are paying more.

@War Tortoise - I'm glad your time value is higher in real life than 20 minutes it takes to make enough for a bond.

No, I do not play a lot of other games.

Edit - Further, my utility in game comes from earning money to pay for membership. I get enjoyment through the process. My utility outside of the game (real-life currency) is spent elsewhere, maximizing both aspects of my life. You are free to use your wealth any way you wish to enjoy the game. People are different, and you are arguing with me for the sake of arguing.

My statement was based on nothing but speculative principle, and how the monetized decisions of Jagex negatively impact business ethics that were once imposed.

I agree with pis2ols here too.
If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.

1) bonds have reached 18-19m previously before price update
2) we vote for content
3) we have OSRS if you dont like eoc and op t90 weps
4) Ways of making money in game has increased, before 6-10m/h was good, now its 30m/h, and can even make 50m/h with few players making 100m/h (999% Telos), meaning even if bonds hit 20m, you can still get a bond in 1 hour of play time, whereas a few years ago it would have taken you 1-2 hours of play time.

Depending on the promo bonds have already spiked past 20m at current IRL prices in the past 1-2 years, and median price has been somewhat settled at 14-16 for quite awhile, spikes not withstanding. Also we can assume mtx won't be decreasing to anywhere near what it was a few years ago, so where's the logic it'll only increase 2m or so? Throwback to when people thought they wouldnt pass like 10m lol. You cannot assume the irl % increase translates even near directly to the % increase ingame. The playerbase determines ingame price remember..and bonds are ALWAYS going to be in demand until making 20m in 2 weeks becomes harder/lengthier than making 7$ irl in the same time. (20m realistically takes a few hours if that.)

The comments I'm seeing here make me ree internally. Smh.

Also, of course they didn't immediately rise...the price rise doesn't kick in for a couple months or so... facedesk. They won't settle at a much higher price for months afterwards either.

I agree with meme tax, nice name btw. But yea i sold some bonds at 27m during last premier hike, turned out i dumped to early. Apparently some were selling for 29-30m at peak. Be interesting to see what happens. Im personaly hoping rs mobile blows up and we get a giant player base again.
