Over the years of playing I have always wanted to thank Jagex for my character.
I've had the pleasure of playing off and on since ''classic'' and through the days of my son 'just a kid then' playing the game on weekends with his friends. He since moved out to start his own life years ago and is now a Plumber and runs a large crew of his own but Jagex, You have no idea the bond we have in part of this game. I should get to the point. My husband and I divorced and he was never around for his son, So through this game my son and I grew closer and closer. We'd talk about trade, money, how to make it, and anyone who knows me wouldn't have a clue what I'm talking about but you guys do, the readers, the players and Mods My son and I went through some testy bad uncertain times. I kept him away from drugs and too much partying because inside he was mad at the way we lived and his fathers absent.
We had a whole lot of nothing but in honesty this game 'at times' sure helped us through when needed. One day, we moved to a place that we didn't know if it was a good omen or bad, but sure turned out to be the place to get away, start over and get on with life. It was A small village called 'Lumby' true! It was fun, and funny. So I left that town three years ago now, but the warm humour remains with us. I won't go on anymore because my story ends here. My character and my sons character, gave us some laughs, cries and a 'certain' bond from this game. We connected when his father wasn't able to connect with him. We learned how to get through by discussing our characters ,which in turn, opened communication to school, life and career. If a ''hug'' emote is possible one day, I'd love to hug my son and say ''you have done so well my boy'' but..he knows already.
love to you Jagex, much love xxxooo Mom.

This story brought tears to my eyes. I too have used Runescape to connect to my kids. I have 4 of my own and 2 stepchildren. They have all played Runescape, although only 2 still have accessible accounts ans the others lost emails, pw's etc.

When we couldnt afford to go on Vacation, we all went camping in catherby. We fished, built fires and sang together in the house litterly as we fished.

Im a grandmother now. But this game sure has given me and the kids a common ground when all else failed.

Cheers to Jagex
