See Post 4 for Tl;dr version.

~The Story~

The Nemi Forest now has a Southern Exit, leading to an area that was previously hit hard by Tuska’s anima eating, which is now a desert.

In the center of the area is an old Anima Temple surrounded pillars that are honeycombed with caves and small Goebie houses hidden in the shadows. You see large lizard-like creatures mounted by humans. There, you find Peck the Goebie. He explains to you that he wants to rebuild the temples across the planet, in order to restore the planet’s anima, or at least to prevent it from leaking any more.

(Not my image. It's something I found online ages ago)

The Goebies, however, are unable to repair it due to frequent raids by the Airut. To solve this, Peck went to your world to find some adventurers and, with the help of Tunks, was able to find several humans who were willing to help. However, the humans who came aren’t enough. All that their small numbers are able to do is train the Lizard-mounts to pull resources, and help the Goebies retreat into the caves for safety. Because of the Desert’s heat, however, the Airut aren’t able to stay long enough to do any irreparable damage to the settlement, so the Goebies are able to live in this place in relative safety.

Peck asks if you are able to return to your world and find more a numerous set of adventurers who would be willing to fight.

This takes you to the Heart of Gielinor Encampment, where there is a large gathering of Adventurers being sent by Harrallak and Ajjat to brave the dungeon. The Adventurers, realizing that they are not strong enough to survive (see all the dead bodies within the Heart), are now stranded with what little resources they brought with them. You approach the Adventurers, and give them an offer.

~The D&D~

In an Oregon Trail(ish, but not really) like minigame, manage your fellow Adventurer’s supplies (food, water), as you escort them to Mazcab. It would be set up similar to Temple Trekking, where you appear in an area and must complete a randomly selected Event, with about 5 Events in total.

Events range from:
Sandstorms that deplete your water storage (if you do not cover it in time)
Bebadin Nomads who will trade with you. A few may even join you
Crossing the River and fighting Crocodiles
Jackals ambush your party to steal food
Kalphite Hunting Party come to eat your faces
Desert Bandit Ambush
Etc.

If you run out of Food or Water adventurers will die after each activity.
Certain Activities restore Water (crossing the river)
Certain Activities restore Food (killing things)
Adventurers may die in during Events
If you run out of Adventurers, you fail the D&D and must start over.

The final Event will *always* be on Tuska’s back where a few Airut have crossed through the Window. You and the Adventurers must kill them off with the help of a few Godless Ambushers already stationed there.

With Gielinor being an abundant source of human adventurers, there is a constant supply of them being sent to the Encampment. With Mazcab being an abundant source of powerful Airut, adventurers on Mazcab are frequently killed. There is a clear supply and demand in this situation, resulting in a new Monthly D&D.
I am not my god.

~The Quest~

As you arrive with new help, you notice that Lunch and Tunks have arrived as well. Peck thanks you for your help and they begin rebuilding the Temple.

*If Dev time is short, the Quest could end here, or it could continue below*

Peck would like your assistance in repairing the Temple, and you are presented with a puzzle where you must figure out the correct way to lay piping, funnels, and vents throughout the Temple in order send the Anima back within the planet (could be Legend of Zelda-esq if it was done correctly).

~Post-Quest~

The Temple is rebuilt.
The area is thriving (return of plant life).
There is a new trio of Goebie mages that you can speak to about their trial.
There are a few Adventurers scattered about the area that you can speak with.

(Would be best released inside of a Mazcab Expansion with next set of Raids bosses, skilling activity, etc.)

I am not a lorehound but isnt mazcab a whole different world/realm? I dont think that kalphites and bandits and such fit there.

The Kalphites and Bandits are in the Khardian Desert, on the way to the World Window. Feel free to re-read to clear your confusion.

Original message details are unavailable.

I kinda like the idea, it's a very interesting concept and could be quite enjoyable as a monthly D&D.

Preferably it would be closer in style to Oregon trail, whilst still being its own thing. If it was too similar to temple trekking, then there wouldn't be much reason to actually do it, save for the rewards.

Sounds like a nice quest :)

I would personally like some more obstacles along the way, to elongate the quest.
- more puzzles
- harder to get through the south section of the forest
- willing adventurers harder to find and more scattered. (maybe convince a few temple tracker adventurers to help (but this would require completion of vampire quests))
stuff like that
Thinks Treasure Hunter uses the same mechanics Free**um games, and thereby targets people who are at risk for gambling addiction.
