Hi. I would like to introduce myself, I'm Shadow Eagle and I have been a RuneScaper since 2007.

I know it been a while since Lodestones first were released, but lately been looking at lodestones and been thinking a while. Been thinking Lodestones should have a reworked to be locked behind a quest and thought it would be a good way for new players to see what RuneScape has to offer. Like Fairy Rings are locked behind quests (Fairytales series). I feel Lodestones having easy access to and no requirement other than a few lodestones makes Runescape a little too easy... but thought that Lodestones should be locked behind a magic level and quest or each Lodestone have a certain city's quest... like say Lumbridge would obviously be magic level 1 for access to its lode. For Varrock and Falador, etc have magic level 10+ and each city with a lodestone have a requiring quest to unlock the magic along with it's magic level. Prif, Menaphos, Bandit Camp's and Tir (not going to attempt to spell it's name) lodestones are locked behind a quest. I'd like to hear other players thoughts on this, esspecially potentional Jagex staffs that lurks the forums. ;p

the lodestones are making the game a bitter joke, since they make the tiny rs world even smaller. i remember when acquiring a new teleport spell by reaching a new magic lvl was a big deal. now its a joke.

+1 Support for some lodestones.

IMO Taverly, Lumby, Varrock, Ardougne, and Falador are fine as they are clearly major cities. Maybe Al Kharid too, but it's close to Lumby. Catherby could also be fine as a port city. Tirannwn is hard to get to, so it might be fine as is.

Menaphos, Lunar, and Priff (and Bandit Camp) are fine, as they can only be accessed during and/or after a quest.

Ones that should definitely have a quest are Eagles Peak, Edgeville, Ooglog, and Relleka.

I'd like to see a small task, miniquest, or construction space for Port Sarim, Yanille, Burthorpe, Draynor, Seers, Karamja, Wildy Volcano, and MAYBE Al Kharid, Catherby, and Tirannwn.

Ashdale can go die in a hole if Jagex isn't gonna do anything else with it.

Dont see how personal reason should be used for updates?

I'd be cool with a low level quest where a wizard or someone in Taverly introduces you to the network, and you need that in order to unlock it, but eh.

As for magic level locks, I'm not entirely sure about that. Quest locks, however, I agree with, for the more distant ones (Tirranwyn, and Prif), but most of those already have quest req's, soo...

That's a lie and a half. If personal opinions weren't used for updates, a majority of the updates out there wouldn't happen. Players wouldn't be able to make hooded skillcape variants, because that was added only due to personal reasons of multiple players. OSRS likely wouldn't exist. Red eyes and pale white skin wouldn't be aesthetic options. Almost ALL updates are based around someone, whether it be a player or mod, having an opinion and enough people agreeing that it should happen. You have every right to not agree with an update; infact, personal reason plays just as much a role in updates NOT happening.

I'm gonna go ahead and agree with Ryndujax. Easy access to lodestones has practically removed the need to use most of the tele spells. There should be some effort required to gain easy access to many of the lodestone locations. In my opinion, ofc.

This is perfect.

However, it's pretty abnormal to lock something that was previously available to everyone behind other content that also already existed. It's never going to happen.

Are you serious? You do understand the lodestone network made almost every single teleport in the game obsolete right? Do you honestly not see anything wrong with this? We are so addicted to the convenience of the Lodestone Network that we fail to realize how it created dead content. Yes, the previous means of getting to towns are now gone with the wind.

Lets just remove all teleport spells from both spellbooks. While we are at it we can remove teleport tablets as well.
