With Shattered Worlds a new Knightly Order was born :D I love that the
Abyssal Knights
are the result of an alliance between the
Temple
and
Void Knights
, and the story potential for them - particularly the dynamic between the Anima Witch and Commander Kenton Decarte - is amazing!! Seriously, these guys could be put to potent usage in the Elder Gods Storyline, what with their relation to Anima Mundi and the Abyss; and the Anima Witch would be a great enemy.

I propose a Questline not unlike the Void Knight one, only blended with more Temple Knight espionage (i.e. working with Savant again) and the 6th Age Elder God plot. Furthermore, it could bounce right off the Void Knight series - maybe learning to work together in the
Knig
ht All
iance
gave the Temple and Void Knights the ability to found the Abyssal.

And, let's face it, the Abyss itself is tied into countless different stories, but thus far it has no Quest series entirely bent on uncovering its mysteries. The Abyssal Knights, by their very name and the story Jagex has given them, are the perfect ones to lead such a mission in a 6th Age context.

Personally, I am of the opinion that none of the Knightly Orders should be ignored, and Jagex clearly went to some trouble to give them a backstory with strong potential backstory. Recall also that the Void Knights were ignored until Mod Moltare, back in 2010 and a relative newcomer to Jagex, came up with the Void Knight Quest series. He said (in a Developer Blog): "I had felt rather sorry for the Void Knights. Poor fellows - an entire order of holy warriors, strong in their dedication to Guthix and to the protection of the world, who had nothing to do but hang around on their tiny little island waiting for the next incursion by hideous void spawn intent on laying waste the world of Gielinor with fang and claw. There was, I thought, potential there for more."

Replace Void with Abyssal, tiny island with ruined temple, ect ect, and the story is basically the same.

Talking of which such a Quest series could also allow us to see and work with Korasi/Jessika (whichever one you let live) again, as well as some old Temple Knight friends such as Eva and Lady Table (and, again, Savant), their roles possibly being to help keep the newest of the Knightly Orders afloat.
I apologize if this sounds like rambling, but if it does then it proves just how much story potential the Abyssal Knights have.

It would serve as the basis for a D&D as well as a Quest plotpoint; imagine the Anima witch weakening the fabric between the worlds more and to the extent that Abyssal creatures start running rampant in certain areas for a time. We, as both a Temple and Void Knight agent, are sent to aid the new Abyssal Knights in finding the Witch and reseal all the portals; perhaps uncovering some mysteries relating to the Elder Gods and the nature of the Multiverse along the way, seeing as the Abyss directly ties into both.

Jagex, remember back when you did a Quest a month? We veterans remember that The Void Knights Series was basically done by only three Jmods – Mod Moltare, Mod Nancy and Mod Rathe – so there is no reason why similar small Quest series cannot become the norm they once were.

Some possible story elements:
- pulling from your adding in the Knightly Orders.
The Abyssal Knights can't be that large of a group, and probably suffered casualties exploring and defending from the Shattered Worlds. At the same time, new recruits aren't that forthcoming. The White/Temple Knights and the Void Knights do have priorities.
One possibility is that the player character helps gather recruits from the Kinshra, White Knights, random 'adventurers', and Void Knight Squires.
Thing is .. the recruits are ... questionable ... from a certain point of view.
The White Knights you get are more in the vein of Sir Owen ... not quite 'White Knight' material, but they also aren't quite the level to get the attention of the Temple Knights.
The Kinshra have those that follow the 'strength thru chaos' mantra ... but they either aren't chaotic enough .. or .. think Lord Daquarius is extreme (again, from a certain POV) when it comes to chaos.
The Void Knight Squires are simply needing training.

You are able to get reinforcements thru ... uhm ... convincing certain trainers and officers to let these individuals join the Abyssal Knights.
It diversifies the ranks. It also aggressively weeds out the weak.

- Exploration/Scouting
There is a rumored 'stable' path ... or one that is unique/strange/something.
It in a way leads to something about the Shattered Worlds or to the Anima Witch.
The Abyssal Knights are stretched thin and ask you to scout it.

Sounds brilliant :) Like I said, the story potential for the Abyssal Knights is near limitless.
