Talents would be like skills except further levels of content become unlocked mainly upon completing a quest related to the talent rather than upon earning xp.
And no this would not be a generic RPG talent tree with keystones and masteries or anything like that. (And if you want to suggest that please make another thread)

The main idea behind this is that there's a lot of ideas that could be skills but wouldn't really make sense or work as a skill.
2 examples of this that I'm very keen on being added myself would be Vampyrism and Necromancy.
Vampyrism would be a very odd skill as I couldn't really see any clear way to level it and I'm not actually sure there would be enough content to fill out 99-120 levels anyway.
Necromancy also has a similar issue, I think earning xp in this skill would feel very weird and although it may have enough potential to fill out 99-120 levels there's still the debate of if it should be a new spellbook or a new skill or a new elite skill and then if it's an elite skill what should the requirements be.

So adding talents would fix a lot of those problems since, Talents wouldn't work based on levels but instead a certain amount of content would be unlocked upon completing each quest in the series.
This means that there no longer needs to be any weird xp training methods for those ideas and they don't have to worry about filling out a specific amount of levels with content, the content gained through each quest can be as small or large as needed.

It'd also make a lot more thematical sense with some ideas, especially Vampyrism since if you ever got turned into a Vampyre that'd likely be in a quest.
And it could work with some other ideas like Mounted combat where you may get taught by Ilujanka or other people how to tame and ride beasts.
Or if we learned Demonology/How to make demon pacts that'd make more sense in a quest.

I think there's a lot of potential in this idea and it'd be a great way to see more good ideas get into the game.

Going into more detail about how it'd work, it'd basically be a very similar tab to the already existing skills tab, with icons for each of the talents and instead of a level indicator a quest indicator e.g 1/4 to show that the player has completed 1/4 of the quests related to that talent.
Clicking on a specific talent icon would then take you to a screen showing all the content and how to unlock it e.g complete this quest to unlock.

Quests would not actually be the only way to unlock content in a Talent some of it could be unlocked through D&Ds and Bossing maybe even a points system related to the talent to similar to the way that abilities like Sacrifice are unlocked or the way the some of the spells in the Lunar spellbook are unlocked however most of the content would still be unlocked through quests.

The biggest problem this may have is how it would interact with the Combat level calculation, but I'm not familiar enough with the system to really pose a solution and it would likely be something that would have to be sorted out on a talent by talent basis.
