Archiving
effective search by post instead of by title
media sharing for ACTUAL effective guide sharing
direct linking
quoting of locked threads
fmod restrictions and faster jmod response
highlightquoting not quoting the entire post and deleting your text
reply flagging

would be a good start.

But honestly, just accept that rsof improvement will not happen. When the rsof is not even working to JMODS' satisfaction and they expand to use the free services of social media, upgrading rsof is no longer worth the website work and IT cost from jagex perspective.

And when I'm already capable of making more effective guides, calcs, and analyses offsite than on rsof, rsof would have to improve to become WAY superior to persuade me transfer my data over.

official wiki is proof enough that won't happen.

Depending on what kind of a time window we want to look at, we could use any two threads, but for the sake of trying it out here now, let's use the thread for this week's patch notes and the thread for last week's patch notes. Monday of last week was a bank holiday, so the patch notes were posted on Tuesday last week (the 30th). That means when we compare this week's and last week's patch notes threads, we'll be getting the numbers spanning 6 days.

...

Really cool stuff and kudos for sharing. I don't think those numbers are anywhere close to any other form of social media for runescape but it's far more than nothing.

Events can happen that drive players to post on the forums, but nothing we do will ever retain players if the top-down problems with protocol aren't fixed.
Honestly, if forums aren't being improved and feedback is disregarded over a span of YEARS, then tricking new players to post on a very cumbersome and stressful forum is a very mean thing to do.

I had been here because people were here, but that number is decreasing. I've shown the statistics that back that up.

I had been here to get player input on my research/calcs/guides, but I can't share my data here (and as I've said before, translating data into plain text is a waste of time, because it'll get deleted permanently after 50 pages unless I spam).

I had been here to try to improve the forums, but I see the same fmods derailing threads for years while protecting known trolls, and the jmods would rather lock threads than commit.

Feedback SHOULD be taken on board, but if they don't try to fix the forums and instead increase censorship, I'm not going to hurt the community by tricking them to come here.

By here I mean LLF.
