Well... as a lot of the forum regulars would've recognised, this thread is back again for the 5th or so time! :P Now that we have a new forum curator who has already done numerous positive changes to the forums, as well as addition of the LMods, I thought I'd raise this issue again.

Forum Specific Rules

Those little buttons at the top of each subsection have been outdated for years, and desperately need updating. I can't remember when, but the old Businesses & Services community were allowed to update their FSRs with everyone contributing. Because of this, a number of FC leaders from the minigames community came together to come up with some updated rules of our own with relevant information or any rules to assist in guiding people, after which I posted the thread. At the time the font sizes were all different sizes as well, and the only change done was the font adjustments - the rest of our thread was ignored.

After some time, a thread was created in the Lore forums allowing them to come up with their own rules for their FSR. Due to this, I recreated the thread for the minigames community and nothing happened.

Thread objective:

However, now that the forum subsections have been merged together and some have been changed,
all
FSRs most likely need updating. As it's concerning rules of the forums, the majority of what they'll contain will be done by Jagex & FMods (and maybe LMods?), but for those who frequently use the forums and have been attached to them for years, have the opportunity to have a say on what may and may not go in them, while also adding suggestions?

Below I have also posted what the old thread had for the minigames/D&Ds community. As the PvP forums have now been merged with us, even these rules need some tweaking now.

Minigames and D&Ds Forum Guide

The Minigames and D&Ds Forum is for general discussion about any of the Distractions and Diversions events or Minigames, as well as giving any advice to other players or asking for hints. You're also welcome to post about a friends chat or clan you may be apart of or run.

FAQ

Q: Are you allowed to enter other players threads to try and poach people for your own group?
A: No

Q: I like the design and thread contents from another group - am I allowed to copy some or all of their thread to use on my own group?
A: No - while some information maybe similar if you're both doing the same activity, you're not allowed to copy another groups content. If you want people coming to your group, try to make an appealing thread that's easy to read, informative and attracts people.

Q: Is boosting minigames with an alt against the rules?
A: Yes - it's considered to be against the spirit of the game as it provides an unfair advantage to those who do not have alts to boost.

Q: I want to join a group for an activity - how do I know where to go for groups?
A: There is a directory pinned to the top of these forums which is updated regularly with up to date friends chats. Try checking that out.

Q: I have been kicked or banned from a group, what do I do?
A: Firstly, do not complain about it on the forums! Go to the thread of the group who has kicked/banned you, look for a list of admins of that group and try to contact them in-game and resolve the issue there.

Q: Am I allowed to trade Golden Crackers, Dungeoneering Yak Cards or Warbanding supplies?
A: As these cannot be traded conventionally (through the trade window), they are considered a trust trade, which are now allowed on the forums. You are allowed to trade these in-game, at your own risk.

Any ideas, contributions or anything towards maybe a subsection you frequent a lot and would like to see some changes/additions, post away. ^_^

The above example will also need some tweaking as rules have since changed from the time period it was posted in, as well as the PvP forums being merged.

The list of D&Ds were not included on the new set of rules as they're constantly changing and adding more.

Also whoever wrote this name was either drunk or having too much fun at the time... :P

Profiled.

On an unrelated note, I'm miffed that FMR has been neglected for over a month.

They'd better not have a repeat of earlier this year and claim that the Lmods were supposed to have taken over.
whoever is humming the jaws theme is gonna get slapped

Haven't trust trades been allowed since the forum rules were relaxed?

What about these?

I have seen people selling yak cards on legit threads that were allowed.

Well, when Waterfall fishing first came out and golden crackers were discovered, I made a thread about them warning players about the trust trading method, and then Dibi ended up locking the thread, and giving it a sticky in the Misc forums for a time being.

When the minigames community came together to make those above rules, that type of trust trading was not allowed, and that was when forum rules were a little stricter. They may be allowed to be advertised and traded on the forums now, I don't know. ;)

Not all Trusts trades are allowed on the Forums. You still can't swap OS Gold for RS3 gold or other way around.
And I guess Tuffty's post shows that the above trust trades are now allowed (golden crackers, warband supplies, etc). ;)
