Support to be honest.

I don't know why it got stickied, and I don't particularly agree with it. While it's bound to happen anywhere in life, I've never liked favouritism and will never support it anywhere. Jagex has already handed the Wiki their own website to run so they do not have to deal with Fandom and their rules.

While they have every right to ask for assistance from the community to keep their site up to date with accurate information, I don't think they need a sticky for it. Also, with what Dong said - if another fansite posted a thread asking for help, would that be stickied?

Another part of favouritism that the Wiki gets over other fansites is the in-game title - the Wikian given to any of their fansite staff. What about all the other fansites and the hours of work they put in?

Edit:
Same thing happens with You Tubers, Streamers, popular people on Twitter and Reddit - those who have more of a fanbase/followers/more popular/famous will always be supported by a company - more than any other "lower" people/sites. RS Wiki is by far the largest fansite, so it's only normal that Jagex supports it further than all the others now.

i did not know they got an in-game title. that's really biased. they should give titles to those who worked on the official wiki on runescape.com as well.
Yeah the owner of the RS Wiki has an in-game item which is a book that can be used on a player granting that player the title. According to the RS Wiki (lol), the owner picks those who have contributed to the site with multiple and credible edits - if I’m remembering the post correctly. I really don’t agree with it at all, but this is sort of going off topic now to what the OP is wanting..

I can guarantee if a good enough reason is thought up jagex wouldn't care if you made a thread a sticky

I've a thread in mind that would be able to fit the bill as well

Nah, that's baseless. I can make this very thread of Dong a sticky, and you'll see me posting as brown tomorrow. We know where the line is.
Well yes, if you made this very thread a sticky, then yeah it would probably just be a 'slap on the wrist' sort of thing.... I think a demod is a little harsh for something as minor as giving a thread a sticky... O_o

@Wilf - I know of a few threads which should have a sticky, especially when one of a similar nature in the same subforum has a sticky, but there's no where to bring that up unless they're seen, which they most likely have, and just not reviewed further (and one of them is my thread, and well it's cringy asking for my own thread to get one even though I've done that before and it got one).

Last thread I thought needed to be moved and also made a sticky is the players on twitter thread that's in community home I suggested this via the FMR as it was jmod only threads at the time. I'm sure if you had a reason why and there wasn't an abundance of stickies in the section it would be considered
Hmm I'll have a think about that... don't want to get any forum strikes due to the new FMR rules ;)

Instead of helping one site maybe Jagex should create a sticky in general where all recognized fansites are listed and stating that they all need help.
A thread like that should be placed in 'Community Home' tbh.

Can I ask you, it was mentioned Jagex owns runescape.wiki and therefore they have the right to give this site as much support as needed - does this make a difference towards how much publicity/support this site gets over other fansites/help sites?
Jagex owns the new "runescape.wiki" website and url. To my knowledge, the new wiki is also run on the Jagex servers.

The decision was made because apparently Fandom was forcing all these rules and regulations onto wiki pages, as well as the constant advertisements being shoved in your face if you didn't have an ad-blocker active.

I'm shocked the owners of the old Fandom Wiki didn't just delete/remove all the old pages to prevent people from editing in dangerous links...

A lot of the adverts it was showing were RWT adverts.

I have never seen any of these, it's a sad case when fansite, people that love the game sink to advertising such sites. I have also never seen such adverts on other fansites I have ventured.
Runescape Wiki wouldn't have chosen the advertisements themselves - I would've assumed that Fandom did, as they owned the actual website and set out all the rules.

For what its worth, Jagex has also in the past stickied initiatives not connected to fansites, too - again, it comes down to if it is something that Jagex wishes to support, they can opt to provide it a sticky if they would like to.
Reminds me of the 5 Year anniversary of minigames and D&Ds with the celebration event thread getting a sticky :)

If you see it in this context and with the knowledge that it's a temporary sticky then there's nothing unfair about it. So I'm not against this sticky anymore
Same tbh.
