NonMax Jakesaid: Team Skullsaid: And here's a hypothetical:
Say they do ban one worded posts. What's next? Ban two worded posts? 3? 4? At what point does a post become "acceptable"? A full sentence?
I can literally type "I do not support this." and have that be my entire post and have it be completely acceptable under a "full sentence rule" and yet still provide what is asserted to be no value by the OP and others, presuming this is what the underlying suggestion is.
This just sounds like nitpicking for the sake of it.I'm not asking for that. I was wondering why people spam the forum like this. There's no point in fixing it when the traffic through the official forum is so minuscule compared to reddit. There's enough people going through these forums on a daily basis to warrant such a fix.
Jane Eyresaid: Miusaid: They should just remove the silly forum gems and/or remove visible postcount to other people. It's not relevant to anyone.
I agree 100%. In all my time using forums anywhere on the net, I've never understood the point of a post count. I am sure it came about to encourage people to post, not realising at the time trolls and spammers will have a field day posting the one worded posts.
Draco Burnzsaid: Jaberwockishsaid: Na, they don't hurt no one because it's the forums, but they hurt the forums and the user's threads.
If you bothered to read what Tuffty said, you could easily ignore them.
Not my fault you choose to complain about every little thing. Who's complaining, we are discussing with sentences. That's right full sentences.
And Tuffty who never uses the games forum because he believes it's full of players who just go there for postcounts, someone who boasts about his postcounts even though the majority is through locking threads not through discussions (don't take this personal Tuffty just using it for discussion purposes)
One worded posts counts disrupts threads, disrupts the flow of conversations and they are not helping in the discussion of the topic.
