With all due respect to Jagex here, why do they act as if nobody in the Old School Runescape community liked Runescape 1 or Runescape 2 before the Grand Exchange came to the game? I am sorry for bringing this up again but I just wish that Jagex would just at least acknowledge that these groups of players still exist. I don't mean to cause any harm here to anyone and thank you for reading this.
Sincerely, Frog Home

What's so bad about the GE? It allows you to trade with anyone on any world. If you don't want to use it then you don't have to, but you'll find things exponentially more difficult to trade for, and at that point you might as well become an Ironman.
I'm not trying to insult your opinions, I'm just confused about how the GE is bad.
Also if you're referring to RS Classic or something similar, then the simple answer is that there weren't enough active members to reasonably continue supporting the game. Plus creating a "Non-GE" Oldschool game would needlessly divide the player-base further, and I have a strong feeling you'll find a very small percentage of people playing on the Non-GE game, which would ultimately lead to it becoming shut down anyways.

Basically this. The majority wanted an easyscape game with the GE, RWT via bonds, easy skilling xp such as woodcutting guild and anglerfish, Zulrah, and other ironman-catering drop tables right from the very getgo. If you can't git gud and L2PK, don't cry for the rewards that come from it such as loot boxes filled with resources.
I don't see Jagex acknowledge whatever groups of players. We are all players, but different kinds of players.
We all exist though. Yes, some players don't like GE. I acknowledge it but it doesn't mean I have to share their opinion about GE just like... I acknowledge there are people who still admire Elvis and live like they were in the 1960's but hey it certainly doesn't mean I have to dress like Elvis myself.

Honestly I miss the old days before the GE too, it added a certain quaint, unique feeling to the game I can't really describe. However, that said, the player base is aging and with an aging player base comes less time to play the game. 80% of players don't have time to stand around in Falador Park or Varrock West for 4 hours a day just to buy/sell their items. The Grand Exchange might not have been necessary back in 2007 but I'd argue it's crucial now just because of how much time it saves. I miss the old days too but I just don't think it's practical in this day and age.
