Way I figure it, he said protect the world from gods. He never said anything about not siding with one so you can achieve that goal.

Or you could just say you're not following a god so much as just siding with them because it's convenient. Someone in our position is going to need allies eventually, so siding with someone we might not necessarily like in the interest of the greater good isn't really that far of a leap in logic considering the Elder Gods are going to be involved sooner or later.

^+^ If the Gods see fit to curse us with the Blood, then we shall raise ourselves above them ^+^

Saradomin gets so much shut. The reason I still like him is because he is that he really truly believes that he is good and when it comes down to it, he wants peace -albeit tainted by his own personal aspirations. He will even admit he regrets some od his mistakes -there is no such thing as a perfect leader -even Guthix made some mistakes. And if it weren't for thw other gods would he still have made the same distasteful decision
He does, the reason why he might come off a bit 'harsh' is because Saradomin believes that his methods are most realistic path to ensuring them, from experience. And from a big picture perspective if you don't put care into pursuing realistic methods that you won't be able to protect innocent/good people of the world from predators, thus leading to suffering which would be 'your fault due to lack of care' in the way its implemented.

The best kind would be somebody who has the 'realism' of Saradomin in implementing a lifestyle where innocent people can be free from being trampled on by predatory mindsets, and also what we all know/love about Seren.

The badger is an example of a well known anti-predatory species and look to how they respond against predators, that's how they survived so long. We all have to be like 'badgers' in the world in order to free ourselves from evil(predatory behavior) sometimes. Once all evil(Those with predatory mindsets) are gone from the world you would get the society where competition for survival becomes non-existent.

Ahaha~, why would you use an example from nature to make that point? You know what happens when all predatory species are removed? The ecological balance is destroyed and everything goes to hell. Total analogical failure, lol.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

I was talking about 'symbolic animals'. Also I don't believe we don't need 'ecological balance' and the world/us could just adapt to accommodate the change itself. Anyway I mean atleast for say those that Saradomin wants to protect in general by getting rid of anything who's behavior enforces a 'survival of the fittest' way of life on the world?

I wasn't addressing your point (a waste of time), I was only pointing out how shockingly bad your "symbolic" analogy was.

There's nothing wrong with siding with gods. It's just about protecting Gielinor. For example they made it impossible to side with Sliske in the end because he was trying to destroy Gielinor for fun, and he didn't want our help.

As for the gods you can side with, all of them have decent intent of their own with Gielinor in mind, even though the player can disagree and go against them. Saradomin seeks a world of order preserving morality, Zamorak wants freedom to gather strength and victory through chaos, Armadyl wants peace and justice. Bandos sought war pure and simple because he was a nihilist in every other manner, so his intent will at the very least be highly contested. Zaros and Seren both have mortals in mind when it comes to their actions.

That said, some are undisputedly a danger, such as Tuska, Sliske (I know he wasn't a god but he was a danger), and Xau-Tak.

Yeah man, I totally believe that the player character can choose to follow a god

When Guthix died I believe that he trusted we would make the "correct" choice before transferring his power to us
.

Happy Hunting,

-Bandos.
Though our god fallen, our brothers and sisters scattered... ready we remain; for one more battle.

LONG LIVE THE BIG HIGH WAR GOD!
