...I'm still disappointed on how Sliske curb stompt us in the end. I was kind of hoping for ONE boss fight with Sliske, but no, he uses his mary sue powers again to win.

He did zap us with the Staff beforehand, so we probably weren't up to *****. That's the only way it makes sense in my mind, anyway... Sliske, as the shadowy puppet master archetype, is the absolute last Mahjarrat I would guess to have hand-to-hand expertise.

Umm, what? Sliske Book of the Gods:

I was struck and knocked to the ground, and found myself on my back with a blade at my throat, staring into the wild eyes of a Zarosian scout. Fear washed over me as I heard steel slicing through flesh...but I felt nothing, save a warm trickle of blood on my chest. The body was tossed aside like a doll, and his face peered down at me instead. I shall never forget that grin - like a skull, covered in a veneer of ridged, grey flesh. My eyes locked with Sliske's as he put his finger to his lips. He smiled, and was gone.

Granted, he tends to favor shadow realm shenanigans and wight making, but he has had some experience with melee (and can apparently toss a human carcass like it was nothing),

Toying with some randy footsoldiers is hardly convincing proof of Bruce Lee-esque skill. I bet you any given Mahjarrat could perform the same feats regardless of their tier.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

See I don't think Sliske beating us as having anything to do with fighting skill. It's been long established that Mahjarrat are physically stronger than humans, and I think that scene reflected that fairly well. Sliske might be physically stronger than other of his kind too due to his increase in power post TWW.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.

Definitely not Lucien pre WGS (Vigorra describes him struggling to even lift a blade), or Jhallen (though he had missed a ritual), Most likely not the temple builder Enakhra (and by extension her rival Akthankos) or Khazard (he's a fairly good warrior, but he's gone down fairly easy every time we've fought him).

I imagine Viggora was exaggerating or using figurative language to describe Lucien's sheer ineptitude at melee combat. If he was truly so phenomenally weak that he couldn't even lift your everyday sword, then how could he carry around the Staff so easily?

I would have to double-check but I recall Jhallan missing several rituals, not just one. And regardless I don't think we see any evidence of his physical strength, or lack thereof.

You mean aside from the fact that Jhallan could barely walk, and literally found himself unable to muster the energy to speak during Ritual of the Mahjarrat? :P
