I do love the blank cheque Zamorak has given Zaros. But they did both agree to the terms of the contract, and Zaros did make good on his promise.

Zamorak had no choice really, and it's his own fault for attacking first, but I'm sure he learned his lesson that without the siphon he can't stand against a real god.

Or Saradomin.

Or... the rest of them.

Hmm.

I'm pretty sure zamorak can stand a chance, or atleast long enough to land a few blows before going down (lore wise he should be able to). It was merely another stare contest, only for a few seconds that is.

Not much of a fight.

Regardless, it is the truth that Zamorak will never win against another god, perhaps maybe against Bandos if he was still alive, but with popularity contest's, also know as "World events". Zamorak will never stand a chance.

Nor will we ever see a epic showdown if it's only a kamehameha fight... or a stare contest untill Greedo shoots first a god fires the divine cannon and the other one takes the hit, while logical able to move from the spot, but doesn't do it because jagex says f*** you that's why.

Yes, i hate world events that have that stupid climax.

Edit; can you really blame Zimzam for attacking first? if you know Zaros like he does.

Remember, Zaros originally intended for Azzanandra and Zamorak to inherit his entire kingdom. From the "Deus Ex Memoriam Crystal":

Original message details are unavailable.

Upon my return to Gielinor, I searched for Mah's elder sisters, hoping to convince them to aid in my transcendence. Instead I discovered a horrifying truth about this world. I know now what its true purpose is. It is not for mortals. It is not for me. And only the powerful have a hope of surviving. My path is clear. Though I cannot create life, I can forge it into stronger forms. Perhaps one such form will be our deliverance. My empire has taught me that pushing mortals meets with resistance, so I must learn to pull them instead: to lead them from the shadows. I must become the guiding voice within their heads - their drive, their urgency, their passion and their betterment. I shall become the mortals' will to power. There is little time, and this will take all my efforts. I shall return one last time to inform the cardinals - Azzanadra and Zamorak shall inherit all.

Ironically, had Zamorak not chosen to betray Zaros at the time he did, Zaros was planning to hand over the throne to the Mahjarrat on his own accord. I don't believe Zaros wants to kill Zamorak. It would have been far easier to just kill Zamorak, and have Azzanandra ascend to godhood. It's not like the loyal of the Zamorakian mahjarrat was absolutely essential. If he could subdue Zamorak, none of the others are a true threat.

Speaking about that.
During the cutscene, were Zamorak demanded Zaros to relinquish the empire to him.

Wouldn't it be smart and better to just explain it, and give Zammy a wristslap for trying to betray him? You would think, for a god that acts on logic and is wise.. would have tried to negotiate first instead of just "kill him".

That's execution for the highest treason. It's Zamoraks own fault for his impatience and anger, hopefully after acting out a second time and being brought down to kneel, we can finally see a Zamorak that thinks before he strikes.

In Zamorak's defence; You work, conquer, fight, slay and maim for a god that keeps secrets, doesn't care much about his people or your own kind, promises things and doesn't live up to them without much explaining, and seeing how he doesn't show much care for the empire much, and is mostly absence.

I'll be pretty pissed off too.

I supposes it's one of Zamorak's main flaws, no patience and always angry. But then again his anger is justified.

In the end, all of it happend because; Plot stuff reasons.

Same for why Zaros wanted to demonstrate it first on Khazard.

Imagine if he used another Mahjarrat, and after Zamorak tells Khazard the truth.

Zamorak: Palkeera never told you who your father is?
Khazard: I think, i know enough, he died a long time ago.
Zamorak: No Khazard, i am your father!
Khazard: Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!
Zamorak: Search your feelings, you know it's to be true.
