I don't have anything against The Signature Heroes personally, I even kind of like them. They're a bit cliché, but they're alright.I think it's decent world building to have other adventurers running around other than ourselves that we can hang out with. Their quests are by far the best starting quests in the game too (Rune Mysteries/Memories and The Desert intro quests are amazing). Wise Old Man doesn't work the same way because he's retired (though he has his fair share of time in the spotlight too) and all the other examples are people *we've* made into heroes. They don't really fit the spot signature heroes have at introducing people to the game, though I'd love to see more of them.

People might be annoyed that they "overshadow" the player, but remember these are low-lvl quests. They've started the whole adventuring thing before us, but it doesn't take long before we beat them (poor Ariane still doesn't know who Zaros is).

Personally I think it's too early to kill them off and they need some more development before I'd find it a good story move, but the ones that have been killed off have been relatively minor. Linza and Xenia always seemed like "extras" to me compared to the main combat triangle trio. If Another's going to die I'd actually be fine with The Raptor, but I bet most people will disagree about that.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.
