No, I am not talking about mental state.... O_o

IN the new mini-quest given out by Trader Stan, Impressing the Locals, we recruit a Black Knight, Bosun Higs. They did mention the Battle of Lumbridge in passing, but I wonder. Are they mad at me for some reason, they certainly seemed to be steamed about me being there. I know Zimzams lost but I fought in their side.. does that count for nothing! :@

Probably because you did a **** poor job and lost :P

Haha I'm just kidding. I think there are really only 2 probable reasons:

1. The girl wasn't mad about you being at the battle of lumbridge, but was mad because you kind of patronized her by assuming her ignorance.
2. Jagex messed up.

There is another possible reason: Impressment.
It's an old method used by navies to get crew members.
The crew would go into a port, or even to another ship at sea, and forcibly recruit several people to their ship.
Sometimes at gunpoint, a few instances where the person was passed out drunk only to awaken with the ship now several miles out to sea.

So maybe this Zamorakian Bo'sun didn't want anything to do with sailing out to the Arc?

I'm not really sure how that's relevant.

1) it was never stated that she was part of the navy afaik. That was her brother.
2) The battle of lumbridge had nothing to do with a navy so how would her being tricked into a boat have anything to do with why she got mad about our involvement in the Battle of Lumbridge.
3) she wasn't going/planing to go to sea before we came, she was waiting for her brother.
4) she apparently has the willpower and the means to go awoll if she wants, so I doubt she would be forced into the navy for long.

admittedly I haven't read the transcript.
but here you have a woman that wasn't a sailor, but is becoming one out of necessity (her brother)?

I didn't say she wasn't a sailor, I said it was never stated she was in the navy. All we know about her past besides being in the BoL is that she grew up knowing learning everything there is to know about boats.

I'd assume she's just very impressed by my skills and valor when I fought at her side in the battle against the accursed Saradomin and is just trying to hide it under a mask of anger.
Or she is jealous of the rewards Zamorak bestowed upon me for aiding him in battle.

Either way, I hope she plays a big role in the Arc questline.
She'll probably be more inclined to being friendly after claiming the land for lord Zamorak, followed after a romantic dinner at sea.

Oh and saving her brother I suppose.

Oh yes, most definitely (because you totally don't end up helping establish a Saradominist church and defend it from Zamorakians (twice!) in the Ports story missions).

PS: Tomlin, the Missionary, was originally a denizen of Draynor (where Higs has been staying) and had gone door to door in Draynor beating people who had 'neglected their faith.' How much you want to bet that she and Tomlin have 'met' before, and that she's not going to appreciate it much if/when you have helped/will help him.

shes just lashing out because of the situation with her brother, it's not like they are model citizens, but there's always room for redemption.(maybe)

Well, I did the miniquest on both this and my alt yesterday, so I had the fortune of reading over the dialogue twice.
From what I gathered, the story with her is this:
She's a Kinshra Sergeant who was present at, and somehow survived, the Battle of Lumbridge.
Though we never even asked, she basically throws herself into the mission. Not for a journey to the Arc, not because of us (though she clearly knows who we are), but because she wants to free her brother and probably murk Jed.

Unlike Jemi who is basically hitching a ride home and likes us enough to help us get there too, Evie isn't our ally. We share common interests. We both want to get to Jed.
