So, this was just a little thought I had.

The World Gate in the RuneScape Universe (hereby referred to as "the Runiverse" ), is definitely based on Stargates from that TV show. One gate connects to another through a dialing process, and our hero explores the galaxy.
Stargate Spoilers for the rest of the post:

In the Stargate Canon, Earth is the hub of the Ancients, the proto-race that built the Stargates. It is discovered that Earth has two Stargates.

So, could Gielinor have more than one World Gate?

I have no evidence to back this up. The only really circumstantial bit would be it would help explain how humanity managed to get all the way across to the Eastern Lands from the Galarpos Mountains in under 4000 years, but even that is based off the assumption that the Eastern Lands and what lies beyond were inhabited by humans in the First Age.

while i think your theory sounds fun, i'd like to point out that humans in the real world have managed to spread across the globe uing boats and just walking, even when it seems highly unlikely.

in short, i think there will be another worldgate on Gielinor if Jagex thinks they need one to expand on a story, but it doesnt have to be.

Yes. You see it in The Void Stares Back. We don't know where it is though.

You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

Then there's The Rift, although destinations can't be chosen. And anyone who can access the Abyss can call it a World Gate of sorts.

But I thought the World Gate referred to a distinct network rather than any interplanar portal - a gate that is connected to a Prime Gate on Gielinor.

What is there is more than one Prime Gate?

Can you elaborate please? Are you referring to the portal the Pests come through, because I'm pretty sure Grayzag made that.

Also I like the idea, but ultimately it's not an element of the story that would make sense or contribute much. Humans back then had different methods of travelling (magic) and they had 2 gods to help them spread out, and more as the Ages passed.

Well you have to remember where the World Gate came from.
Guthix himself created the World Gate using the Blade. He cut into space-time and made a portal to various worlds. The only other portal we know of that has been used to teleport beings from world to world en masse is the portal Zaros created using Loarnabs mangled body and divine energy, that portal has long since closed.
In order to make another permanent World Gate, it's safe to say we'd need to do as Guthix did, and use the Blade. So no, I don't believe there's another World Gate on Gielinor. If there was, between Guthix, Seren, Zaros, Zamorak, Saradomin, and the Dragonkin; all of whom we've questioned about things in the past, none of them seem to know about it?

If you're referring to the Rift into the Void, then no. Guthix created that by accident when he sliced into space-time with the Blade and cut too deep, creating instead a rift in space-time that led through to an emptiness outside the world we know, this became known as 'the Void.'
