Yea Saradomin felt reeaally out of character honestly. Not saying he ISN'T a bad person but he isn't like-.. Completely inane and senile in his decision-making? Like he immediately knows you're lying to him if you try to lie in Endgame, but in this quest none of that intelligence and wisdom is there. Mods pls notice me

Everyone here except Evil Dave is completely out of character. Was extremely jarring seeing myself claiming that I was "forced into cahoots with Zamorak against my will," given I've sided with Zamorak in every situation outside of Fate of the Gods. This isn't 5th age content, or even the continuation of a 5th age storyline; feel like those choices should at least be acknowledged in dialogue, if nowhere else.

You've already covered why Saradomin's actions were silly, but Zamorak's were as well. He's characterized by his cunning and resourcefulness, and yet here he squanders his one major advantage over Saradomin--surprise--in order to get into what was effectively a one-on-one slug-out with an objectively more powerful being. Even if you help him in Dishonor Among Thieves, he's still only back up to the level he was prior to the BoL; I can't imagine how silly this must have looked for anyone who didn't.

I'm also not sure if they forgot we had the ability to teleport into Zamorak's layer and speak with him, but apparently he doesn't have anything to say about any of this.

So is this entire quest just a non-canon joke (I'm aware that it's intended for comedy, but so are the pirate and penguin quests; they're still canon), or is something else going on?
A Zamorakian lorehound, probably.

Idk if the penguin quests are wholly canon but regardless, I've been treating this quest as semi-canon really. We can cite the quest as a source for soul-swapping magic and maybe the sentience of hell-rats, but for the other bits, ehhhh. Mods pls notice me

I actually imagine that Saradomin saw the funny side after the quest, seeing his reaction. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. And Zamorak just didn't want to say anything. Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

Wowie. Isn't it neat how Saradomin is a whole tier above Zamorak? Almost like he could stomp Zamorak without a second thought....

You do realize that the tier system does not automatically give a victory to a God on a higher position? You do recall the fall of the Zarosian Empire?

Yeah, remember that time Zamorak burst in on Zaros and beat him by throwing nearly identical spells at him for hours? It's a good job the tier system doesn't matter, or he might have needed artefacts or extremely careful planning to take Zaros down. A Zamorakian lorehound, probably.

Minus the fact that there's a cutscene ingame (BoL Ending) that shows that Saradomin can easily overpowered ZimZams now.

That is the point of my post, a God of a lower tier can still defeat one on a higher tier. Unless we are assuming every God encounter is a Dragon Ball Z showdown.

Saradomin was able to over power Zamorak at the world event conclusion only with the help of player involvement. It is always a rock, paper, scissors scenario.
