Okay this may sound pretty crazy but I do have some logic for this theory.

The player is a wight of Sliske, in the similar sense of being a wight like Gregorovic, as whatever we kill we grow stronger and we have free reign on where we want to go and who we can talk to. Also, the majority of quests which we do were Sliske planning. This could explain why Sliske got very mad during KS as we done something that he had not anticipated that we done something which wasn't what he expected his wight to do. This may also explain why he didn't take us as a wight during ROTM and just teleported off after taking Akrisae without firing a second shot for us.

Okay I know it's not much but it is an interesting to think that we're a wight.

If we go in depth and ask ourselves, what makes a wight a wight, in runescape terms.
Is it being controlled? Being undead? Belonging to a set? and so on.

We're definitely manipulated by more people than just Sliske.
We have returned from various underworlds/afterlives many times.
And we're not exactly 'human' either now, as Azzy put it. Especially with WG status.

I would certainly say we have ticked all the wight boxes in a sense,
but we're not truly Sliske's (possession wise), unless you count everyone being a toy to him.

Technically the popular version of Wight refers to a Wraith-like creature. The difference being a Wight has a decayed soul in residence. In old times it was said as Wiht, which referred to a living "creature".

So we could technically be a Wiht in the old Norse, while the barrows Brothers would be Wights in the modern sense.

A Lich is very similar but uses a phylactery to bind the intellect to. Which since that seems similar to how Arrav was kept 'alive', might almost make them a Lich. Though that would depend on if he'd have had any power over undead if freed from the Necromancers controls.

Though there is a lot of possibilities to what we could be, since the Anima Munid is also stirring the same pot.

I doubt that. One of Sliskes flaws is he can't keep anything a secret for long. Something like this? It'd be rubbed in our face daily. A
World Guardian
must learn to find
Balance
in themselves.
Only then can they
Control
themselves and forge their own
Fate.

What we are could be very simple. we're human, but with a pinch of something that let's us be everything we can be. No having to Master just one skill over a lifetime or be a Master of None. Like the Stone of Jas can store knowledge that is easy to access and use. Maybe we've been given something similar of our very own?

That might also explain why Sliske's siphoning us could have effected the Barrows Brother. Just like drawing power from the any Artefact linked to the SoJ builds a link to it. It could just be that Sliske really didn't understand anything about us beyond what Guthix foisted on us, and that could be the critical mistake.

Does that make us a Wight? Probably not, at the end of the day it depend on Gielinor's version of exactly what a Wight is. Without that we are just howling at the moon.
