Hello! Me again with another very odd and easily ignored lore tidbit. This time is about bones, but mostly their relevance to Meg's Cases.

Now, this player character, Penny Drakis right here, is noticeably obsessed with bones. Her only 99 is prayer and yet she keeps burying bones, crushing bones, grinding bones, buying bones, manipulating the bone market, sacrificing bones to the gods, collecting skulls for the skull throne, &c. She could easily earn a second 99 in fishing, but nope, bones bones bones. But even then, her ability to identify bones as belonging to this or that individual is unbelievable.

Take the case of Will Dee Abandoned. Will Dee's friend, Bones, allegedly wandered into the Varrock sewers to kill moss giants. Without knowing much about Bones, the world guardian goes searching for him in the sewers, where plenty skeletons in various states of animation can be found, and somehow manages to pick out Bones' bones in a pile of bones and a rune scimmy belonging to Bones. Maybe it had 'PROPERTY OF BONES' etched into it?

Stranger still is the case of the Jewel Thief. After determining the culprit is a (male) soldier of Burthorpe (and one able to easily travel vast distances despite his limp) the world guardian searches the soldier's footlocker and finds:
* Some bones… they look rather familiar… wait… are they yours?
* Okay, this just got creepy, that doll looks scarily like you…
* You find a journal, it reads:
** I cannot believe it, after years of watching {PLAYER CHARACTER} pass by my window I am finally going to speak to them. I just need to get them a present… a ring would be nice but there is no way I can afford them on a guardsman's wage*
* You find the missing jewels

So somehow, the World Guardian can not only identify bones belonging to an individual they have never met, they can also identify their own bones. Which are outside their own body. In a footlocker. Somehow.

Dear World Guardian, stop dying. Weirdos will collect your bones.
Humility is self-destruction, pride is the destruction of all else. And He said, "
Let there be light.
"
And then there were none.

And there, all in one neat post, is what is different about us. Like the Malkavian vampire sect from Mascarade, we're a little nuts and know things that no one should be able to work out. :)

You know, if the anima connects everything then maybe that is where we get our insight from?

The point is, even for a bones obsessed world guardian such as Penny Drakis, this is extreme. What is this? Just another lorefail on top of the flaming heap of lorefail in Meg's Cases? Or is it something more important(and thus fun)?

One route to fun*ville is that this is a hint to yet another mystical property of bones! Not only do bones grant the people who bury them special powers, but bones are so unique from individual to individual that even the least bone obsessed world guardian can tell which bones belong to which individual.

Another route is though the timey wimey roads blazed by Meeting History, While Guthix Sleeps, and Broken Home and continued (sorta) by The Light within and Kindred Spirits. Has the World Guardian littered the past and the future with their own bones? Is that how our skeletons escaped their fleshy prisons?

CASH CASH CASH! 4 YOUR BONES ! TOO MANY BONES? NOT ENOUGH CASH?? CALL CASH BONE! RIBS! SKULLS! SPINES! EVEN CERTAIN TINY EAR BONES! The leg bone's connected to the CASH BONE!

So the World Guardian is a notice-me-senpai for bones, and the thief is a notice-me-senpai FOR that notice-me-senpai? The only way it would get more messed up is if Meg was obsessed with that guy, and that Jemi was stalking her. Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

Hmm, would you mind giving a couple examples of these lorefails?

Well, why call something a lorefail when it's a pattern. When it's constant stream of knowing a few titbits without foreknowledge of it before meeting the thing in question, then it's an ability and not a fail.

Everything is connected by Anima, and it comes in many forms. Just like electromagnetism comes in many states or types. It can leave impressions behind, (what do you thing ghosts are!) and affect things around it. Magic is powered by it. So the simple explanation is we have an innate ability with whatever this...field?...energy?....anima type is? And so that makes us an Animancer! ^_^

Ani being short for Anima. And Animamancer is such a mouthful:P

There haven't been lorefails in Meg's Cases, people who aren't paying enough attention THINK there are.
Also, you probably know Bones' bones apart because the other bodies are very old, and this one was kinda, how do I put this, fresh? Basically, an adventurer went missing somewhere with a lot of old dusty bodies... you go there and find a fresh body laying among all the old, dusty ones. NOW it could be SOMEONE COMPLETELY UNRELATED... but the actual chances of that? Yeah, no. It's him.

I haven't done the newest one yet, I'll let you know what you missed when I do.
