This should probably go in the New Game Content Suggestions thread, but I'm posting it here since it technically involves lore, and you guys are the opinions that I'm after.

Would you guys want a tab like this:

(Ignore the bond thing. I was going for the idea that you could change past decisions via the use of a bond. 1 Bond = 5 changes to your canon, but idk how I feel about it anymore.)

Also, if you want to compile a list of quests, and their decisions below, go ahead (like the various Void Knight stuff, where we sent the Stone in RotM, all the decisions in SE and MPD)
The RS Wiki will post your IP Address online

So an tab that shows your past? I guess that would help remind us what we picked if we don't remember, the change idea sounds cool also, but IDK how I feel about that also, maybe not with bonds, but something else maybe?

Support, I've regretted not giving Zaros another hole in the chest for a long while now.

I don't mind a tab to show our past decisions. I do mind the ability to change your own canonical choices. I don't mind allowing people to play through completed quests as if they had made different canonical choice (like how we were supposed to re-play Sliske's Endgame).

I really don't understand why people don't want the ability to change their decisions.

Yeah, some say it cheapens their decisions, knowing they could just go back and change it later, but really, all that tells me is you lack conviction and will. If you really and truly want to continue to play by all your chosen consequences then you shouldn't need to have no option for changing your mind later, your resolve should make it just as permanent.

One could even suggest that it would actually enhance your experience in decision-making for the same reason that pure's often don't want to be able to put a lock on the skills they don't want to train. Standing by one's own convictions is very rewarding.

Some also say things like "In real life, you don't have do-overs, why should you here?" Precisely because this isn't real life. Many people use video games to escape real life.

Regardless, I think the best option is to allow us to change decisions, and also allow the ability to permanently lock the ability to change your choices. The same way in Minecraft you have the option of locking yourself out of the "edit" mode or whatever it is called.

The only possible reason I could see why someone wouldn't like this is because they don't like that people play the game differently than them and want to dictate how other people play a video game, even though it has no bearing on their own game.

Idk. I'm of two thoughts on this personally.

On one hand, allowing choice changes like this would (in my mind) cheapen the fact that the Sixth Age and God stuff is supposed to be morally ambiguous and surprise you with how choices made in the past can pop up and change the ongoing story later down the road. So knowing that you have a safety valve of sorts to go back and fix things kind of takes away from investing people who care about that sort of thing in the story for whatever reason, and imo would make things less interesting since half the fun is just not knowing what can happen at any given point because of what I did in the past.

But, realistically speaking, this game pretty much sucks in its current state when it comes to replaying quest content since we can only replay 2 and need to make a new character to do the rest all again. And it takes months, if not years (depending on outside factors), to get an account/character geared up and ready to do the quests, and that's not taking into account that the developers themselves have a nasty habit of taking years to continue storylines once you catch up anyway. So I can definitely understand wanting to go back and change what happened if someone's currently following the story and gets blindsided by new lore reveals that change their opinion on past options from months or years ago.

Personally I'd rather see that time traveling key used in allowing choice changes. At least that way it makes sense in context.

Technically you guys are supposed to discuss Lore in threads around here instead of suggesting stuff to add to interfaces. But I'm willing to see where this goes considering the nature of the suggestion can be justified through lore too.
