Have I ever mentioned how much I despise Necrovarus' notes? Well that's probably a rant for another time.

No, please do make the rant. I agree with you on this. Or was that it? :P

Original message details are unavailable.
-I have no counterpoint to this, but I also don't know exactly what events you're speaking of.

There was a teaser prior to endgame in which the gods appeared in-game (Saradomin in Falador castle, Armadyl at his tower and Zamorak in BKF), but players had to do special things to "summon" them first. To summon Armadyl I believe you had to kill muggers and with Zamorak you did something with Zamorak brew. Anyway to summon Saradomin players had to pray at altars throughout the game and once they reached a certain threshold he appeared. You also got a few messages along the way like "Saradomin finds your lack of faith disturbing" and a few other things commenting on your progress.

@Godwine: No that wasn't all of it. I might write some more about it later.
-
I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.

Sliske makes absolutely no sense.

-The amulets are way beyond his power. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Saradomin had to use the SoJ in conjunction with his own power to get it done.

what makes you think they're beyond his power? they don't seem especially powerful to me... more like the average magical trinket (not outrageously average, but not above the crafts of the mahjarrat)
and even if they are above sliske's skill, there's no reason he couldn't have asked someone else to make them (like how zamorak asks that r-demon to make him the subjection/subjugation robes)

edit: also, if zamorak needed outside help to make the robes (sort of similar to the amulets) then it could very well not be about 'having enough power' at all, just about level of skill

-This goes off a crazy assumption that somehow Saradomin can't hear Zilly's prayers...but Sliske can. That or he has the most insane luck in the world when it comes to timing.
zilyana definitely seems like the pray-out-loud sort and you know sliske can just sit in the shadow realm and spy on people

edit 2: the amulets seem very sliske-ish... not like something saradomin would do. saradomin, if he thought zilyana needed help, would show up and start crushing heads, forcing the other gods to show up also to stop him from singlehandedly destroying their armies

edit 3: I read it again, realized I misremembered some things, and I've decided there's no reason it can't have been saradomin. That having been said, hazeel's still wrong :P (because reasons)
my main reason for thinking it wasn't saradomin is because it doesn't outright say it was... but the book is from zilyana's perspective, she would hav no way of knowing with abosolute certainty (and even when she does *know* the reader just thinks she's being a brainwashed zealot )

Aside from the fact that these were mass produced in the thousands, they give the wearer increased power and allow for mental communication for multiple armies--that's something only Gods are usually capable of doing. If any old T4 Mahjarrat can do this, why not make it an army standard? This would add an INCREDIBLY valuable resource to any army. Again, this is why I think the only reason Saradomin could even do it was because of the stone.

The amulets were subtle. This is Sliske, the guy who obnoxiously screams for attention and slams a psuedo edicts sword in the GE just to get people to notice him.

...You just answered why exactly he wouldn't do that. Saradomin isn't that stupid.

It does outright say it--or rather Zilyana does, but she's the only narrator here. And she knows Saradomin better than any living person except for perhaps his daughter.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

We literally see Saradomin communicating with Zilyana in The World Wakes despite being offworld and affected by the edicts.

It was Saradomin.

He could have easily done the same thing in this instance. Her book quite literally indicates she was not communicating with him directly.

Sliske. Nuff said. He loves causing ruckus. He was tinkering around with the Ashuelot Reis and got her to free Nex, who was original trapped in her prison thanks to the combined strength of all 4 other gods. It is logical he would want to mess around with the generals, too. Sliske probably spawned it in front of Zilyana from the Shadow Realm.

I could see it. It served less to help Saradomin win so much as to sew discord and confusion among the four factions. It fits his calling card. Using the shadow realm to hide himself he could have easily made them "appear."

Interesting. I didn't know about this teaser even after reading the RS wiki's article on Sliske's Endgame.

Going a little off-topic, I found Armadyl on his Tower but no signs of Zamorak and Saradomin in my game. Would love to try summon the latter two, so do you mind elaborate a bit on "do something with Zamorak brew"? And must I locate and pray at P2P-only altars to summon Saradomin? How many times must I pray at altars b4 Sara shows up?
Deathless I see, but even immortals will not escape my wrath!

You can't, the event was a one-time community thing. They're all already summoned, they're just P2P-only npcs. Armadyl's only visible since he's technically scenery as far as the game's concerned.
