If TH was released a decade ago maybe this idea would've been more realistic. However if they were released today just imagine the anger of those phat owners who paid hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of bonds/gold to get their hands on a phat. :P

Support simply to crush the absurd and unnecessary bank values of the many gambling hosts from several years back that unfortunately continue to plague the game and it's economy.

And yes anyone I see with a partyhat is classified as a gambling host because you will never convince me that you earned like 6b or whatever stupid street prices you people have them at legitimately through in-game activities.

Thats definitely not the case though. Just because someone have 200m xp in runecrafting doesn't mean they bought their way through or botted it. The same can be said about party hats. Although many party hat owners did resort to gambling or rwt to buy them, there are also players that have earned a party hat via dedication. By that I mean from playing the game for long periods of time either pvming/skilling/merching or all of them. Re-releasing partyhats will be unfair to those who previously bought them for bills. Not only that but then other rares such as santa hats/hween masks will need to be re-released otherwise they will be the new "party hat" and cost bills.

If you're serious (and brave) about this thread and actually want something done, i'd suggest posting on reddit as jmods are more active there.

That being said i don't support this sorry. It's not that i don't want a party hat or that i have one, i'm actually quite poor really, trust me. And i do agree that party hat prices are really really out of reach for the average (and hardcore) person to have. It's just that it's not a win-win situation like others have said. Those current owners who have worked hard for years and years put the effort and by rereleasing it, it will ruin their banks and make their hard work throughout the years go to waste.

Not only that but as said by others, what will that mean to the other rares. If party hats get released it's only fair that other rares such as h'ween masks and santa hats get rereleased. Now it's not a suggestion i have nor something i want, it's just a point i'm making because imagine if party hats only get rereleased. Party hats become worthless and then other rares swap prices and they suddenly become 1-10b.

Tl:dr: No support because it's unfair on current players who have it.

Also no support to any coloured party hat being released. Introducing a black party hat even will definitely affect prices of current hats, tradeable or not. Anyways good luck with your ambitions :)

Rest of runescape player base no support

Be like every other party hat owner and earn one or use real life money and purchase one via bonds.

""Be like every other party hat owner and earn one"
1. be fortunate enough to have collected it or bought it in-game when it was dirt cheap.
2. Resort to immoral means such as scamming/gambling/staking.
"or use real life money and purchase one via bonds."
3.Yes because people are going to spend $1k-4k on a paper hat.

I feel as if you are wanting party hats on the TH for a means of gaining wealth without actually working for it.

Don't worry! I'm not after wealth. I'm just wishing to have fun with partyhats. That's what they were designed for. Cheers!

To add, anyone who wants to gain wealth can just buy bonds, it's pointless to do TH for money! > )

Yes but if (supposably) tradeable partyhats were on treasure hunter it'd be different.. People would actually risk trying their luck and making hundreds of millions if not billions of coins rather than buying 100 bonds.

But don't make them tradeable, and make all phats untradeable, problem solved (well except that some people'll probably continue to be stupid and think it's worth trying to buy gp via TH, but they'll learn the hard way sooner or later anyway)! > )

I wouldn't mind if partyhats became untradeable but i know people that will. I mean it's a little too late for change. Safest option is to keep things how they are.

Absolutely not. The whole lot of you that support this idea have lost your minds and simply want to obtain something for next to little of nothing. I would like a phat myself, but will never have the money, and I can accept that and so should anyone not willing to work for them. Rares are rares for a reason. No support. Nice try.

I completely agree. Also, I would like my name to be removed from the supporter's list, please and thank you.

Here's an idea new party hats that are untradable. New as in different colors. There could be orange, black, pink, teal. etc. for any other colors that have not been used on the original party hats. This way the original party hats keep their history, rarity and price and there would be new party hats (a different style though, but not like the 15th anniversary one) for some of the players that didn't play back then or those who can't afford them. Just a thought.
Besides every player in OSRS have party hats and just about every other rare and you don't see much complaining over there. Again just a thought.
See below.

And suggesting a tradeable/ untradeable partyhat makes little to no difference. Most people would still disagree just from the simple fact that they don't want any more partyhats to be added.

Agreed.

"Phats were originally intended to be fun items"
Yes they were, however it ended up as valuable items. Jagex saw this and started making the newer holiday items untradeable. You can go have fun with those untradeable holiday items instead, which i might add have more functions that just wearing them. Some of them you can hit people with, some come with an emote, so go have fun with those instead.

Interesting.. Perhaps just a cosmetic that was untradeable BUT could be recolored to what ever you want..
No support. Will crash blue partyhat prices the most. Why would anyone buy any coloured partyhat when you could just buy an override allowing you to pick any colour you want.

At second thoughts, its actually a good idea - being able to pick any shade of colour you want.. However i still cant see it happening given the prices of existing partyhats.

Personally, I don't support this.

They're rare for a reason,
I think if you really want one you'd work towards getting the gold to buy one like
everyone else.

It would also crash the price for people already owning existing Party Hats and wouldn't do the economy much justice.
Whether you support or don't support this, we can all agree that
there's no such thing as "working for the gold to buy a partyhat" by legit ingame means anymore. These items have literally become impossible to get for the ordinary player and even near impossible for the extremely dedicated
.
Not so sure about the "everyone else bit." Put aside all early players of the game, i doubt many players earnt their partyhats by moral means.

Nope not entirely, it would be a cool thing to have, but doesn't make it quite right given theres no compensation for current partyhat owner and for that reason it doesn't make it right.

@Jokku23 Reason:

Whether it was on intention or not, party hats are a big sign of wealth and prestige for over 10 years.
Everyone who wants 1 grinds for months to get it and show it off
.
Don't you mean everyone resorts to scamming, cheating, gambling or no lifing for years (if not over a decade) to get 1?
