Currently any metal 2handed-sword, made with 3 bars taking barely several ticks, can be disassembled for 12 component rolls.

I'm currently testing it on beta and it takes what, like 108s at max heat to finish. And it gives the same 12 component rolls.

Are you going to rebalance it?

How are we going to get components like base bladed sharp heavy direct etc etc?

This is a huge huge nerf if you're leaving it as is.

That is where Salvage is going to play a hand in it. Those are intended to be used as D/A material or Alch Materials. All smithable equipment are intended to be purely for the purpose of XP.

All Salvage will come from PvM itself.

Are you saying that now we can make a 2h sword in a few ticks, but when rework is released the same item will take 108s????? :O

Yes, a good chunk of the purpose of this update is to make smithing materials actually worth something.

By slowing the rate gear comes into the world and restricting it to solely coming from the Smithing skill, you can ensure that the price will be much higher than the current alch fodder most metal gear is.

Did anyone check higher tier equipment dissasembly?
For example: mithril platebody gives 8 components with 59% junk chance
mithril platebody +2 is same 8 mats with 59% junk chance...
I*ho should be little less junk chance at least coz i spend a lot more bars...

I'll check Elder Rune real quick for ya.

EDIT: Elder Rune Platebody
Junk Chance: 0.0%
Chances for Materials: 8
Cover parts (often)
Plated parts (often)
Deflecting parts (often)
Strong components (rarely)
Protective components (rarely)

I'll look at a few more too, but it looks like the higher level materials have insanely low and, in the case of all elder rune items, nonexistent junk chances.
Improving the items to + quality does nothing to the # of materials.

EDIT2: Necronium platebody
Junk chance: 18.4%

EDIT3: Bane platebody
Junk chance: 1.9%
