The premise of this game is simple (and highly unoriginal): We make a story involving npcs and events ingame. Everyone posts a part of the story in italics, and the next person has to continue the story in a coherent fashion.

The Rules:
1) You get 1-3 sentences per post (I originally was going to make it 1 sentence, but I don't think you can accomplish enough with that).
2) You cannot post twice in a row (otherwise rule 1 is meaningless).
3) You cannot introduce Gods or Elder Gods into the story.
4) Please stray away from any profanity, obscenity or controversial material in the story. Forum rules apply.
5) Stories can end and new ones can start again. As a general rule of thumb, if you feel like a story is about to come to an end, you must A) State that you think it's coming to an end, and B) Someone must agree with you. Only then can someone finish the story.

You get points for:
1) Reading the story before posting (duh).
2) Continuing the story in a coherent fashion.
3) Doing what you think would be better for the story rather than what seems interesting in the short run.
4) Adding regular characters rather than powerful/legendary characters.
5) Stating that an action happened without the results of that action. For example, writing "x lunged at y with a knife" instead of "x lunged at y with a knife and killed them"
6) Using lore. This is a lore game! (which is why you fmods will go on the party pooper list if you move this to the games forum...)

And without a further ado, let me begin my pathetic attempt at a game that either nobody will play or will go horribly wrong!

It was a cold Wintumber night, and Hans was growing impatient. "What is taking her so long?" he wondered, shivering in his Ardougneese coat.

He knew Duke Horacio well, or at least liked to think he did - He had practically helped raise him, after all. Yet His Grace insisted on being secretive with him about the nature of this errand, and about the identity of the woman he was to meet. The old manservant wasn't sure what to make of this, and he wasn't sure he much liked it. "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you[...]For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?

When it was 30 minutes past, a figure appeared in the distance, and as they approached closer, he saw that it was a peculiar woman with long hair and a mysterious pendant. Seeing that she was the one he was suppose to meet, Hans awkwardly exchanged greetings her, after which she said "Come, let us go inside the Inn - we have much to discuss" I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.

Hans shivered and shook in miserable silence the entire way, but finally the pair reached the Inn. As they sat at a table, Hans looked at the woman with the yellow-green amulet. And she spoke - "The time has come, Hans. I have your quest." ^ "Some of those words were

"But wait! Who are you? and why me?" Hans inquired a little too loudly. "Quiet!" She said sternly. "I represent the interest of a powerful organization which has certain leverage over your Duke, we pressured him into sending his most loyal servant because the nature of this quest will require being discrete."

"Now, take this letter," she whispered, sliding a nondescript envelope across the table. "Do not read it. You must deliver it t--"
Without warning, a stone pillar came crashing down through the roof of the inn, producing a sickening crunch as it came to rest directly on top of the long-haired woman. Hans sat in stunned silence as the townsfolk surrounding him erupted into screams of terror -- but above the din, he could hear a sinister cackling in the distance. The letter, along with the strange yellow-green amulet, lay on the ground next to him.

Nice try, but still the wrong forum. So now that the thread's getting moved do I get a prize or something? :p

Are you sure this doesn't belong to forum games?

could also argue stories/roleplay

Tbh stories/roleplay would be a better fit since Ere* admitted the thread's going to be for more or less creative writing anyway. And I'd feel bad if I dumped this in what I basically see as a glorified spam pit filled with 'Count to X before Y happens' styled threads meant to do little more than pad out postcounts. :|
